BREAKING: The US approved a Chinese firm with an empty office to handle Nvidia's AI chips, Per NYT.
The firm, New Matrix, was cleared by the Commerce Department this year to build Nvidia H200 chips into AI servers.
Its listed Beijing address is empty, and property managers have no record of it.
Chinese records link its owners to a private equity fund the US blacklisted in 2024.
The NYT says dozens of Chinese firms have been approved to handle H200 chips, and some have ties to sanctioned companies.
