Meghalaya CM Condemns Attack on Kuki Church Leaders in Manipur

Shillong, 13 May 2026: — Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma expressed anguish over the attack on Thadou Baptist Association (TBA) church leaders in Kangpokpi District, Manipur.

In a post on X at 2:01 PM, Sangma said he was “deeply disturbed and anguished” by the “unprovoked violence and brutality” against leaders who work to foster “peace, unity, and brotherhood.”

Calling the acts “unacceptable” and demanding strong condemnation, the Chief Minister urged authorities in Manipur to take “immediate and strict action against those responsible.”

The post comes amid widespread condemnation of the 13 May ambush targeting church leaders traveling between Churachandpur and Kangpokpi districts.

Personnel of Rapid Action Force reportedly entered a private House of one woman in the Keithelmanbi Military Colony (KMC) in Kangpokpi Dist today. The personnel vandalised the house and its properties. He could've sexually assaulted the helpless woman had she been there at the time of the incident.
