Rekha Gupta ji, what is in your mind about community animals?

Community animals, including cows, bulls, and dogs, are born free and have a rightful place in our society. Your statement advocating for the "systematic relocation of community animals" raises serious concerns. What does "systematic relocation" mean? Are you suggesting uprooting these innocent beings from their familiar surroundings where they have lived for years?

Isn’t this against Indian culture and the law?

Feeding cows, birds, and other community animals is an act of compassion that resonates with our rich cultural values. Penalizing people for such compassionate acts is not just a violation of human empathy but also goes against various animal protection laws, including the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960.

Rekha ji, kindly clarify —

Where do you propose to relocate these animals?

How will relocation ensure their safety, survival, and well-being?

Doesn’t relocation result in cruelty and dislocation, which is illegal under Indian law?

Community animals are a part of the ecosystem, and removing them disrupts the natural balance. Relocation often results in starvation, injury, and death due to unfamiliar environments and lack of care.

We urge you to reconsider this approach and focus on better management, sterilization, vaccination, and sensitization programs instead of punishing those who care for these voiceless beings.
