@nadiainitiative War and genocide anywhere leave a mark on all of us. 🇺🇦 share the pain of the people affected by this evil. I believe that @nadiainitiative will achieve its goal, and for every Yazidi, as well as for all Ukrainians, there will come a moment of justice.

I am here in Sinjar at the Yazidi Genocide Memorial, joined by survivors, community members, grassroots organizers, friends, and allies to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Yazidi genocide and to honor the memory of those we lost at the hands of ISIS.
Ten years on, our community — especially the survivors — remains resilient, tirelessly fighting for justice, rebuilding their lives, and restoring their community.
To ensure survivors can have a future here and to prevent future atrocities like those in 2014, the international community’s support is needed now more than ever, as thousands of families return home. A decade later, we are still striving to hold ISIS accountable, rescue the missing women and children, rebuild our homeland, and support survivors of ISIS captivity. Achieving these goals is impossible without the sustained support of the international community.
Sexual violence is never acceptable as a tool of war.
Today, 10 years since ISIS’s effort to destroy the Yazidis in Iraq through terror, kidnapping, & sexual violence, we recognize #OurWorkIsNotDone and recommit to reuniting the 2,600 Yazidis in captivity with their families.
Today marks the 10th anniversary of the Yazidi genocide, when Yazidis' lives were thrown into chaos and destruction.
There is still so much that needs to be done to support Yazidi survivors.

Met with Nobel Peace Prize Laureate and Yezidi human rights activist @NadiaMuradBasee. I reiterated our unwavering support for justice and recovery for Yezidis and other survivors of genocide in Iraq and Syria.
@PoPville@AMarch4OurLives wonder how many folks we could rally in DC for a march down to the capital on Wednesday June 8 to demand Congress act immediately to end the monstrous and entirely preventable gun violence epidemic killing more and more kids by the day?

Two wars in Europe birthed the UN framework. The third proves its continued necessity — and suggesting otherwise only promotes the dangerous worldviews that got us here in the first place. Now is the time to redouble, NOT reconsider, our commitment to multilateralism.
Pleasure to have hosted @KirbyNeuner & @PatrickJPratt in Goma for the US State Dept review of @Monusco ahead of the mandate's renewal by the UN Security Council. We know we can count on the USA🇺🇸 in our efforts to help the #DRC Govt bring peace.
