Transparency isn’t optional in a democracy.

It is no secret that Doug Ford’s private cell phone is connected to the Greenbelt development controversy.

What we don’t know is who was calling and what those conversations were because the Ford Conservatives have spent years and public resources fighting to keep them secret.

With repeated rulings against him, Ford's Conservatives did what no government should be able to do - rewrite laws to protect themselves.

The message is clear: government business conducted on a personal phone is still government business. The only thing standing in the way of transparency is Doug Ford himself.
