@TheCupitals He’s definitely underperformed but I’d be willing to do a first and some change for him. Don’t think the devils would trade their former 2nd overall pick in division tho
@reillocity@CarlosACollazo Feel like literally the only issue as a prospect that everyone agreed on was some launch angle concerns and maybe great not elite EVs (which he’s producing now). I don’t think this was a large failure of league wide scouting I think it’s an unheard of regression to this point
@jadams0925@TheCupitals The rock the red era was a fandom DC hasn’t seen besides prime redskins. Ik Covid affected some things but it was hilarious how much more the DMV cared about the caps cup than the nats WS haha
@TheCupitals They’re both wings and I’m lowkey sick of the caps type. Big slow cycle heavy guys being our prototype is why we have been destroyed in the playoffs since the cup, the FO realizes that and now goes for skill like Hutty Cristall
@TheCupitals Idk Brady and Kyrou are extremely similar level players, both absurd analytically with one being more physical and the other being super fast. Both ones cmm and a prospect (?) for Brady, maybe a 1 2 and CMM for Kyrou
@golions819@TheCupitals Yeah I’d rather this package and maybe swap a first for a prospect if the stars wanted that, fine with the offer sheet but 4 years without your own first is so risky. I’d rather trade CMM than give him 6aav if it comes to that
@TheCupitals Think Brady and Kyrou should be similar value with Brady costing bit more, I’d try for one of them and if we have to go offer sheet robo I would. Also it’s unlikely but I’d at least see what getting Matthews would cost, I’d pretty much offer anything they want
@TheCupitals In comparison Kyrou had similar but slightly worse possession numbers on a worse team but also has more play driving ability. Pro Willy PLD all good possession guys that can’t drive play. Leno a poor possession guy but can drive play
@TheCupitals 100% an amazing possession guy, not exactly soemthing we lack but he’d still be an amazing improvement. If I had the choice I’d prefer a play driver rather than another possession player but I don’t think this offseason will have many options
@TheCupitals Maybe not a poor skater but statistically definitely a pretty below average skater. I think he’d be an elite pickup talent wise but he’d be more of a big improvement over an archetype we already have, whereas Kyrou is just as good and very unique for our team
@TheCupitals I’m just slightly hesitant on the idea of adding another poor skater to the team unless it’s robo, still if no other options are available yeah I’d do both ones and CMM in an instant, think it would cost more tho
@TheCupitals If both could be had for the exact same package (unlikely) I’d personally choose Kyrou still. Kyrou is an archetype we don’t have, speedy elite 2 way game. Brady is something similar to Willy but more offensively talented with a great shot and is much slower
@kingconnor24 This is why it would be devastating to lose Mahoney. He uses the perfect blend of analytics and in game evaluation to determine the upside and value of a guy, not afraid of taking the small guy that produces well like so many teams are
@allzcapz@TheCupitals I feel like the caps struggle around halfway thru the season started when Carbs gave up on the idea of HD chances bc he saw no one could finish anyway, and then we just sucked the rest of the szn. I hope he goes back to that system it’s effective if you get finishers
@TheCupitals We’re getting to the point that LT is in that tier 1 of goalies with vasy helley sorokin and igor. Maybe like tier 1A is still vasy helley and igor with sorokin and LT in 1B but either way he’s insane, the deal we have him on is great
@MikeBartner I like the idea of top 3 in each division plus 2 WC that we have rn, but hate the actual playoff format where u play in division for 2 rounds. I also personally don’t like the idea of a play in, give us 3-2-1-0 and the 8 best teams will make it no need for play in
