Today, I had the pleasure of welcoming stakeholders, Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) to the PWD Breakfast Forum held at the Kenya Institute of Special Education spearheaded by the Office of the Government Spokesperson in partnership with Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) Kenya.
KISE and Huawei have come together to make the lives of PWDs not easy, but possible with inclusive tech innovation shedding new light on development and upgrade of assistive devices and technology, in order to improve the quality of life of the users, their treatment and rehabilitation. Alongside others partners, the institutions are launching the Kenya AI for Disability Project aimed at local manufacture and production of these equipment and improved standards of healthcare for PWDs

Our discussion focused on strengthening collaboration between KISE and the State Department for Children Services, particularly in enhancing assessment, capacity building, and access to specialized interventions for children with disabilities across the country.
I paid a courtesy call to the Cabinet Secretary for the Ministry of Gender,Culture ,the Arts and Heritage Her Excellency Hanna Cheptumo where we held a productive engagement on advancing inclusive services for children with special needs.

Today, I had the honour of serving as the Guest of Honour at the commemoration of World Autism Awareness Day at the Kenya Navy Base, Mtongwe, hosted by the Military Wives Association of Kenya.
The forum continues to reaffirm our shared commitment to advancing education at the grassroots level, with a strong emphasis on inclusive education. We remain dedicated to listening and learning in order to inform policies that will shape the future of education in Kenya.
