The Kitimat water system is under a Water Quality Advisory, due to elevated turbidity in the Kitimat River. Northern Health recommends that children, pregnant women, the elderly and persons with weakened immune systems drink boiled water at this time.

District of Kitimat offices and facilities will be closed on April 7 and on April 10 to mark the Good Friday and Easter Monday holiday. Riverlodge and Tamitik Sports Complex, which includes the Aquatic Centre, will be open for regular hours on April 8 and 9.
