Africa CDC has been selected to represent regional health organizations worldwide on the Joint Task Force on Global Health Architecture Reform.
This is a recognition of Africa’s growing leadership in global health and a responsibility to ensure our priorities are heard.
It will bring the priorities of 55 AU Member States to the process, working with African governments and regional health organizations.

Let’s talk about hidden gems.
Tucked away in the heart of @KWSTsavoWest , Mzima Springs is one of nature’s little wonders. Water travels underground from the Chyulu Hills, naturally filtered through volcanic rock, before bubbling up crystal-clear at the springs. 💧
Have you ever discovered a special place in Kenya that you think deserves to be discovered? Maybe you took a wrong turn, stumbled upon a place you never expected, or someone told you, “You have to visit this place.”
What’s your hidden gem? Tell us about it in the comments for a chance to win two complimentary nights at Kamboyo House in @KWSTsavoWest . The comment with the highest number of likes wins!

Today marked the first day of the Ewaso Ng'iro River Camel Caravan 2026, a walking campaign that brings together pastoralist communities, conservation champions, government, and partners to advocate for the protection of the Ewaso Ng'iro River Basin, promote sustainable rangeland management, celebrate pastoralist culture, and elevate the Indigenous knowledge that has sustained these landscapes for generations.
Along today's 14-kilometer route, veterinary teams administered the Peste des Petits Ruminants (PPR) vaccine to 9,212 sheep and goats in Lmeoli, Mabati, and Lpus Loompasion in Samburu East.
Beyond protecting livestock, these interventions help secure livelihoods and reinforce the resilience of pastoralist communities who depend on healthy herds.
As the world marks the International Year of Rangelands and Pastoralism #IYRP2026, the caravan reminds us that sustainable rangelands are inseparable from the communities, cultures, and knowledge systems that have sustained them for generations.
@Weltfriedensdienst
The 14th Ewaso Ng’iro Camel Caravan is officially underway at Nkaroni Community Land, bringing communities together to celebrate culture, rangelands and pastoral resilience across the Ewaso Ng’iro North Basin.
This year’s caravan is more than a journey across the landscape. Its a space for , dialogue, learning and collective action—and an opportunity to reflect on the future of the landscapes that sustain us.
As we mark the International Year of Rangelands and Pastoralists (IYRP 2026) we are reminded that healthy rangelands and thriving pastoralist communities are central to a sustainable future.

Who gets to be called a conservationist? 🌿
For generations, pastoralist communities have stewarded rangelands as living systems sustaining people, livestock, wildlife, biodiversity, and culture.
As recognition of Indigenous and pastoralist knowledge, rights, and governance grows, the next step is ensuring that recognition translates into meaningful influence in conservation decisions.
Join IMPACT Kenya and partners on this side event happening at the CBD SBSTTA 28.
🌿 Pastoralists as Guardians of Life: Rangeland, Rights & Inclusive Conservation
