@SecCardona Higher education sure is bringing down the borrowers with Spousal Joint loan who work in the public sector.Still waiting for you to implement the law that was passed to separate. And maybe an acknowledgment that your actually doing something behind the scenes. Have heard nothing!
@SecCardona The Dept. Of Education is considered a predatory company when they don’t provide relief for joint Spousal loan borrowers and haven’t helped us at all.
@SecCardona We need some communication from the @usedgov regarding your implementation of PL 117-200. Force servicers to contact EVERY SINGLE holder of a Joint Spousal Consolidated loan NOW! Many not on social media & don’t know about the law. #SC_douspart
@SecCardona Separate FFEL Joint Spousal Consolidated Loans into DLs now so we can qualify for PSLF. It will be easy for you - no legal battle or congressional opposition. Easy win you can boast about on twitter
@SecCardona Separate FFEL Joint Spousal Consolidated Loans now. POTUS signed into law the authority & requirement for you to separate JSCLs into DLs. There is no Supreme Court battle on this. No reason for you to not do this now. Your inaction is costing us dearly.
@NEAToday Could you get your experts to push the DoE to do what they're legally required to do & separate FFEL Joint Spousal Consolidated Loans into Direct Loans so teachers like myself can qualify for PSLF? Congress passed s1098 but DoE has done nothing. We need your help.
@SecCardona Please implement PL117-200 now! Many of us are still stuck in joint spousal consolidation loans that need to be separated!! You are responsible for implementing the LAW!! It passed in October! Please do something now!
@SecCardona What about those Joint Spousal Consolidation loans? When ru going to initiate process toinact PL117-200? Communication would be nice. How about stop the Gravy Train and STOP the daily compounding interest making it impossible for a person to pay off student loans? @SC_DoUsPart
@SecCardona What about PL 117-200? You must execute a plan to separate joint Spousal Consolidation loans! Almost no communication from @usedgov regarding the law. Some of us are truly suffering under the burden GET IT DONE! @SC_DoUsPart
@NEAToday My family consists of TWO 20 year teachers who continue to pay almost $1000/month for our loans. Ineligible for PSLF solely due to being coerced into consolidating our loans into joint spousal consolidation loans in 2005. WE NEED HELP!
@UnderSecKvaal I hope this includes FINALLY enacting the LAW to separate Joint Spousal Consolidation Loans. I'm tired of throwing hundreds of dollars to SL Companies when my loans should've been forgiven already. 2 twenty-year teacher household and we continue to pay and pay!
@SecCardona@SecCardona MEANWHILE...those of us with JOINT SPOUSAL CONSOLIDATION LOANS cannot qualify at all for anything. Please address s1098 which became law in OCTOBER.
@NEAToday@theSBPC@NJEA@NEAToday did you know that many teachers are stuck in Joint Spousal Consolidation loans that we fought tooth and nail to have a LAW passed to dissolve? Law passed in October, we still are paying, many OVERDUE for PSLF. PLEASE HELP! @SC_DoUsPart
@HawleyMO & @Eric_Schmitt please investigate @usedgov and their refusal to implement or even acknowledge public law 117-200 (S1098). The Joint Consolidation Loan Separation Act passed the Senate unanimously in June & was signed into law by @POTUS on Oct 11th. Thanks! @SC_DoUsPart
@SecCardona Any plans for us "old people" who have been stuck in predatory FFEL Spousal Consolidation Loans since the early 2000s? JCLSA has been law of the land since 10/11/22, yet not implemented. Still paying interest on a loan of which my portion is less than 10%. No pause, no PSLF.
