@theunlockdheart I think it’s the fear that I could die of cancer and leave my son and partner behind.. so I feel that To honour my anxiety I need to do as much as I can to look after my body. If I channel my anxiety in to that then maybe it will settle? 🙏🏻
How does one deal with death anxiety? Since the loss of both my parents to cancer I am constantly plagued by death anxiety. This fear haunts me & I struggle to fully enjoy everyday life. Any tools or advise to master this fear would be appreciated #deathanxiety#liveforthemoment
I watched my dad look after my mum for 4 years. 2 months after she died, he got diagnosed with cancer and depression. Looking after a terminally ill loved one takes its toll on your body and mind. Let’s make sure there is support out there. #LetsGetTalking#mentalhealth#hospice
Carers of terminally ill patients are up to seven times more likely to have mental health problems, research published today by @DimblebyCancerC shows. Read more about the research, led by @gunn_grande: https://t.co/Hb29yjb4we #peolc#palliativecare#mentalhealth
Over the years, parts of my grief got stuck. I was scared to speak about my feelings so I hid them in my knapsack.Eventually my knapsack began to burden me. My body began to physically hurt & I was crippled with anxiety..so I decided to unpack my knapsack. https://t.co/ZmQ5SZ2rAP
‘Being present’ is a comment I used to roll my eyes at🙄It sounded so easy, yet for me it was never obtainable. After many years, I now understand that to be present I have to look at the parts of myself that got stuck in the past, unpick them & learn to be at piece with them.
Why do we do this as a society?
Why do we have to hide our true feeling?
Why isn’t it okay to just not be okay.
Because it is.
It’s okay to not be okay.
Don’t hide it. Put it out there.
It’s how we heal.

We can often shy away from expressing both positive and uncomfortable feelings to others, yet it is so vital as it helps build the foundations of an authentic and strong relationship, which the world needs more of..❤️
@medsocmeded Sorry for my late reply, and please do not worry about intellectualising. Reading other people’s own stories / theories & thoughts around life&death is something I find so helpful.
It allows to me to process my baggage in my own time. So thank you for the recommendation.❤️
@KarlaHelbertLPC Thank you so much for your kind and thoughtful words. It means a lot! I think I need to embrace the fact that we do only have a limited amount of time, and instead of pushing against it, I need to embrace it! Easier said than done though 🙈
My outlet used to be an unhealthy mix of alcohol and illegal drugs. It was a way to numb the pain and dissociate from what was happening. Times have changed and im starting to learn healthier outlets, and it’s making such a difference #MentalHealthMatters#grief#LetsGetTalking
It is not uncommon for people to feel like they are doing reasonably OK at coping one day, but feel completely bereft and hopeless the next. Having an outlet is helpful in this process - what's yours? https://t.co/5l8tIy5nhZ
“Attempting to be too ‘nice’ or ‘strong’ is a dangerous course. It cuts off the flow of feelings which is essential for physical as well as mental health” #LetsGetTalking#feelings#honesty
There have been so many times I have felt like this, but as I’m beginning to unpack my knapsack of grief.. these moments are becoming less and less. #grief#LetsGetTalking#KnapsackOfGrief
