More reports why Sony is trying to end physical discs:
- They want to cut out the middle man, to make more profit per sale (like remove walmart cuts etc)
- Sony thinks the fanbase will not switch platforms, they can do what they please without losing fans
- They are convinced by ignoring this issue, they fans will just accept the changes and convert to 100% digital with time.
- Sony thinks they are "too big to have commination with fans". Talking to fans has no margin benefit, so they refuse to address fans and will keep doing so
I have lost all trust and goodwill with PlayStation, no words what is happening right now. Horrible company
This is funny. Bro has the most goated taste and is genuinely one of the most passionate gamers out there, yet the Expedition 33 fanbase slanders every game he brings up.
The FF7 Remake trilogy is the most ambitious (and risky) remake of all time. They could have played it safe, but instead we got a decade of speculation & hype. Massive net positive. It’s bittersweet that the unknown journey will soon be known & complete. Time well spent.
Regardless as to whether or not you buy games digitally or physically. This is a deeply anti consumer move. Honestly kills a lot of the hype I have for the future of PlayStation.

Shut the fuck up about fucking inflation for five seconds.
Housing costs exploded. Food costs exploded. Healthcare costs exploded. Wages sure as shit didn't. People have way less disposable income than they used to, so pretending a $100 game is the same because your little calculator says so is the dumbest argument imaginable.
Thinking of maybe dropping FF13. I'm on chapter 7 and honestly the game is just not good. I want to love it. I really do but it's just way too linear, repetitive and boring.

We’re truly so lucky to have him. 🙏🏻 #FF7R
DLSS 5 is truly the definition of slop.
Imagine working your ass off for years to create a specific design and aesthetic and realize they’ve given morons the power to slap on a Snapchat filter.
everything about this is a betrayal of these game’s artistry. painting over hand crafted intentional 3d art with shiny, wrinkly, sunken-in, porous, puckered, fraudulent filtered nonsense is deeply disrespectful. if you want this just watch gen-ai videos all day

If you have any money to spare, consider giving Gene a donation. He is a great journalist and a great friend of mine, and he's only made the gaming community and the world a better place. Even if it's just a couple bucks, it adds up.
