Do MAGA Reps know what's causing this heat wave? Are they wrong?
I don't know. It also doesn't matter.
I DO know this: we won't power our society on wind & solar. We won't meaningfully reduce CO2 without a massive expansion of nuclear power.
@Atomicrod Wasn't a side effect of Megatons to Megawatts a dip in U prices that essentially killed our domestic fuel supply chain? Nothing against reducing nuclear weapons, but a) do I have that right? and b) if so, how would it be different this time? Thx
After every fire/storm, why do I get climate lectures from supporters of the folks that shivved nuclear power in the west, leading to a giant expansion of coal?
I'm uncertain if your diagnosis of the cause is correct, but I am certain that your solutions are not.
Folks who absolutely have to have clean, reliable, 24/7 power know the only place that they can get it.
It's time for our "leaders" to realize that forcing unreliable crappy power down the throats of us plebes leaves us relying on a 2nd class grid.
BREAKING: AMAZON MAKES HISTORIC INVESTMENT TO DEPLOY NUCLEAR PLANTS
Amazon has made a direct investment, the first of its kind, into building nuclear reactors to power AI.
Amazon is investing in X-Energy and joining Washington-based nuclear operator Energy Northwest to deploy nuclear energy in a planned 5 GW fleet by 2040.
After Amazon and its pears claimed for years to be using "100% Renewable power", it has become an open secret that this has only worked because of heavy use of steady nuclear, natural gas, and coal power bought as "gray energy" and taken from the local power grid.
An announcement ceremony is happening in Washington DC now.
More analysis to come.
@AndrewCFollett@NRO It won't happen cuz it can't happen. Plenty of damage will be done trying, but at nut cutting time, per @DoombergT, on the path from abundance to starvation is riot. And Dems have already shown they'll burn hundreds of millions of bbl of oil to avoid the modest pain of $5 gas.
BREAKING: NEFSA obtained an exclusive photo Monday night of the broken offshore wind turbine that has Nantucket beaches closed during the height of summer - Vineyard Wind claimed the turbine blade was still mostly intact.
@CynthiaL1018341 @FrakerMonica Thank God the idiots who fought against it didn't win. One of the most reliable power plants in Texas that we desperately need more of.
As France's grid is 70% nuclear and 15% hydro, the "no AC for athletes" virtue signal is completely pointless, even by eco alarmist standards @mkhammer@VictorinoMatus https://t.co/E7ZKrvErM7
