@AShabeel61879@amishav_ You cannot be truly right with G*D, and condemn an ENTIRE GROUP OF PEOPLE - with no exceptions at all - as being "vile demonic people."
You are, precisely, DEMONIZING people. Change your heart, lest it become demonic, itself.
@DedicatedALog@amishav_ You are showing real hate - beware lest it consume you worse than the hottest oven. Change your heart for the better! You may still disagree, but not like this.
@m_americus@amishav_@GovMikeHuckabee How dare you sneer at "Christian" Arabs, as if there were no such thing?
Christian Arabs have maintained the faith of Jesus' apostles for two millennia, often in the face of pressure or even persecution from their neighbors.
They do not terrorize their neighbors - look at #s!
@Stevekauf@mgswift7@TribLIVE Most people approached by ICE are not criminals, in the usual meaning of the word (with its connotations of felonies and violence) Some may be guilty only of a misdemeanor in not being able to show they are citizens.
Moreover, have you heard of innocent until proven guilty?
@sf4d74@lordmiles Mystically, yes, we killed Jesus.
Every time Christians (and anybody else) stifle the formation of their conscience, and especially when we act against conscience, harming ourselves or others, we are in some way "crucifying the Lord" (Hebrews).
@mogustene@lordmiles What about the Mediterranean cardinals, or bishops, like Augustine, later of Canterbury, who came to England and brought Christ to the Saxons?
@PsuedoCeolwulf @lordmiles Nonsense.
Unless you let "Orthodoxy" accept a leading role for the Bishop of the Apostle Peter's Church in Rome. Such a Bishop of Rome sent Augustine, later of Canterbury, to England, back in the 6th century A.D. That was, at least, a lawful action of the Patriarch of the West.
@ExtremeCen80240@lordmiles Here's a hint:
Jesus never went to Constantinople, then the village of Byzantium. He never went to Alexandria. He never went to Antioch. He never went to Kiev or Moscow.
Your words are unsupported assertions, except that Orthodoxy does have sacramental connnections to Jesus.
@CriticalDragon1@lordmiles If the British people mass convert, it should be because they accept the Catholic Church as the Church founded, built up, guided and protected in teaching, by Jesus Christ (Matthew 16, see Isaiah 22 for a similar office of Chief Steward "over the house" in the Kingdom of David).
@MAGA_GuineaPig @lordmiles Actually, I learned from Henry VIII that the temptation of Orthodoxy towards Caesaropapism is dangerous and contrary to Christ's teaching that God (and His chosen Church officials) are independent of Caesar. Look at the subservience of the Putin-picked Russian Orthodox Patriarch!
@BritisherPaz49@lordmiles "no foreign religions"
So: someone should have stopped Augustine, later of Canterbury, when he arrived from Rome, sent by the Pope? Joseph of Arimathea, also, peddling the same "foreign religion" earlier? Jesus Christ also, if He ever visited "England's green and pleasant land"?
@07Maggi@lordmiles Christ came and established His Church. He does not think of the Church as a middleman.
Consider the words He uses to reach Saul/Paul, who was persecuting, he thought, a wrongheaded middleman church:
"Saul, Saul, why do you persecute Me?...I am Jesus, Who you are persecuting!"
@Iowan_Andy@lordmiles There have been evil-doing Popes. There have not been evil-teaching Popes.
No Pope who, say, committed adultery or murder ever taught that adultery or murder are good. Why?
I believe God stops them, if they try, so that the "gates of hell do not prevail" against His Church.
@JordanMay127228 @lordmiles So?
The Old Testament ceremonial Law was fulfilled by Christ, and no longer was binding (see Acts 15, the Council of Jerusalem, where this is clearly seen in principle, though some points of the Law were allowed to remain as a gesture to the sensibilities of Jewish Christians).
@Flagfish2022 @lordmiles All of us are prone to sin/abuses, even covering up or JUSTIFYING our abuses. But Jesus didn't marry six wives, killing some, AND, on top of that, teach that was GOOD, and persecute and kill those who criticized his actions.
Henry VIII did. May God have mercy on him, and on us.
@trequor_@lordmiles If the English Catholics had not been persecuted so viciously and so long, their religious words would still exist. Oh wait
They exist. The Anglican Ordinariate is a recognized path for former Anglicans in the Catholic Church, using the Sarum rite and a version of Common Prayer.
