Estonia and Latvia both border contiguous Russia. Poland and Lithuania border Kaliningrad Oblast, Russia. All four are NATO members. It's a pretty bad excuse. But there are pretty much no good takes in the replies either so I will forgive her.
This war and suffering could have easily been avoided if Biden Admin/NATO had simply acknowledged Russia’s legitimate security concerns regarding Ukraine’s becoming a member of NATO, which would mean US/NATO forces right on Russia’s border
The #Cygnus spacecraft is safely in orbit with solar arrays extended. Treats and tasks await the astronauts upon arrival at the @Space_Station, which is set for Feb. 21. Kayla Barron & @Astro_Raja will work together to guide Cygnus into place: https://t.co/BEsJA2XGyb
Was a “Regards” guy for a little bit. Too formal for me. Shifted over to “Best” for a while but got bored. Now experimenting with “Cheers” but might be too European for a guy from Boston
The mortgage payment on the median house in the US went from:
- $1400 in Jan-21 to
- $2000 in Jan-22
The median US monthly earnings went from:
- $3900 in Jan-21 to
- $4030 in Jan-22
At this rate, how many people will be able to afford their mortgages if prices don't decrease?
This isn't tenable for them in the long run. I wonder if this is a one time cost, and now that they have are integrated with the systems there it might be cheaper in the future. If not, when you consider the prices they are bidding, they won't be doing much out of Cape Canaveral.
Launching from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station costs @Astra about $1.5 million, says Astra's Tom Williams. Private spaceports are about one-third of that. #csf2022
We experienced an issue in today's flight. I'm deeply sorry we were not able to deliver our customer's payloads. I'm with the team looking at data, and we will provide more info as soon as we can.
@MarcKBoucher@SciGuySpace $HOOD went through a traditional IPO and if you bought at the offering price you would be down 65% right now. The $IPO etf is down 30% in the same time period as the above chart.
@jeff_foust ARKK (Ark innovation ETF) is down 40% over that same period, DSPC (de-spac etf) is down 45% over that same period, it's not space stocks, it's speculative growth stocks with high P/E multiples that are being sold off due to rate hike fears.

It would be good to see one of the most destructive forces in the demise of the local store to at least have to compete fairly in the implementation of their destruction.
I admire what Jeff Bezos built at Amazon, and what they've done for innovation and consumers.
But they cannot operate their logistics/supply chain business at a huge loss, paid for by AWS, to stop competition. That's why we have antitrust.
