The Supreme Court of India on Feb 26, 2026 heard a Special Leave Petition (SLP) filed by an individual challenging the modern gas crematorium established at the Isha Yoga Center in Coimbatore, in a matter earlier dismissed by the Madras High Court.

During the hearing, the Chief Justice of India described Isha’s service as “pious work” and suggested that an arrangement regarding alternate land to the petitioner could be mediated between the parties.

Taking one sentence… removing it from context… framing it in a shocking way… and spreading it online… is not journalism. It is a narrative building.
I have listened to Sadhguru for years.
Never have I seen him speak inappropriately or irresponsibly.
If there is real evidence… let it be presented fully.
If not… then this is just another example of how social media thrives on sensation more than substance.
Truth does not need propaganda.
And propaganda eventually collapses under its own weight.

Article’s point: Bhajans and chanting have moved from intimate circles into stadiums with LED walls, DJs, lasers, and choreographed crowds. Spirituality is framed as entertainment.

What the author has missed is scale ≠ superficiality.

This is very important to understand. Historically, spiritual movements always adapt to available technology:

•Buddha used public gatherings
•Bhakti saints used folk music for their reach
•Churches adopted organs and megaphones
•Today’s Gurus use livestreams and stadiums

If millions can access a meditation or a mantra because of microphones and YouTube, that’s not dilution - that is actually democratization.

Sadhguru often emphasizes that tools are neutral; it’s how you use them that matters.

A microphone doesn’t cancel transcendence any more than printing presses cancel books.

At Isha Foundation, in Coimbatore, if anyone has ever visited the ashram, they would be fully aware that the Surya Kund (in picture) is for men/boys and the Chandrakund (not in picture) is for women/girls.

Shyam Meera Singh should be held legally accountable for spreading blatant misinformation. The individuals he has falsely portrayed as “minor girls” are, in fact, boys from Samskriti Gurukul with long hair, a reality that could have been verified with even the most basic commitment to truth. Misrepresentation of this magnitude is not journalism, not activism, and certainly not concern for public welfare. It is reckless narrative-building.

What is truly disturbing is the mindset behind such actions, a mindset that shows no regard for facts, no sensitivity toward real issues affecting children, and no respect for truth itself. When genuine suffering exists across the world, choosing instead to manufacture outrage for attention or ideological gain reflects a profound moral failure.

This is not about protecting anyone’s safety or upholding values. It is about pushing an agenda, an agenda aimed at defaming Isha and Sadhguru, regardless of accuracy or consequence. When allegations are built on distortion rather than evidence, they harm not only the targeted individuals but also public trust and meaningful discourse.

Criticism is valid in a democracy. Fabrication is not. Accountability must apply equally to those who claim to speak truth but repeatedly abandon it.

Truth matters. Integrity matters. And deliberate misinformation should never be normalized under the guise of concern.
