BREAKING: Magolide and Wandile Nsibande Arrested During Protests!
Magolide and Wandile Nsibande have reportedly been arrested amid the ongoing protests. Supporters question why protesters are being arrested for exercising their right to demonstrate. Is protesting now a crime?
Youโre just another unremarkable shit-stain product of a noisy, dysfunctional, poverty-ridden sewage nation famous for nothing but corruption, internet fraud, public defecation & producing self-loathing international orphans who don't know what it means to actually love home.
ADRIAAN BASSON, WE NEED TO TALK ABOUT ACCOUNTABILITY.
You say Jacinta Ngobese-Zuma is โNOT above the lawโ and hold her directly responsible for threats against your journalist.
Death threats are unacceptable. Full stop.
But here's the uncomfortable question:
When News24 exposed Twatterbaas, you defended the decision to identify him.
Now you're demanding accountability from Jacinta.
So who holds YOU accountable, Adriaan?
Who decides when exposing someone is legitimate journalism and when it crosses the line?
Who scrutinises the people who scrutinise everyone else?
You cannot appoint yourself the watchdog of South Africa and then act surprised when the public turns the watchdog's eyes on you.
Journalists are not above scrutiny. Editors are not above criticism. And News24 does not own the moral high ground by default.
If accountability is your standard, apply it to yourself.
NO SACRED COWS. NOT EVEN IN THE MEDIA.
@AdriaanBasson@News24
The likes of Redi Tlhabi, Karyn Maughan, Adrian Basson, Pieter du Toit, Qaanitah Hunter, Dan Corder and others in the media establishment need to understand something: you no longer have a monopoly on public discourse.
Ordinary South Africans now have platforms to question your reporting, challenge your narratives and expose inconsistencies without seeking your approval.
You spent years scrutinising politicians and public institutions. Now the public is scrutinising YOU and suddenly criticism is labelled misinformation, ignorance or a coordinated campaign.
You donโt get to decide which voices deserve to be heard or which concerns are legitimate.
The days of controlling the narrative without being challenged are over. Get used to being held to the same standards you demand of everyone else.
We are the media now. We are the journalists. Your monopoly on public discourse is over and itโs grinding your tits to watch ordinary South Africans challenge your narratives without asking for your permission. You no longer get to dictate what the public thinks, questions or believes. That loss of control is what really bothers you lot
So what? Are your legs not working? Please explain a justifiable or logical reason as to why a man in 2026 should stand up for a woman unless sheโs pregnant.
Women canโt fight for equality and independence, then expect to keep the bits they like from the old ways.
as a non-South-African, normalize staying out of South African politics. Nigeria urgently needs radicalised youth to uplift the country. redirect that energy at your earliest convenience
