Otto Carius was nearly rejected by the German army for being too thin. He went on to become one of the most famous tank commanders of the war.

On July 22, 1944, near the village of Malinava in what is now Belarus, Carius and one other Tiger crew rolled into a column of Soviet tanks that had no idea they were there.

In a matter of minutes, the two Tigers destroyed more than a dozen Soviet tanks, including new IS-2 heavy tanks the Soviets had been counting on.

Two days later, Carius was badly wounded while scouting on foot and nearly killed. He survived, returned to the front, and finished the war in Germany, credited with more than 150 tank kills.

He surrendered to the Americans in 1945.

After the war, he went back to school and became a pharmacist. He opened a pharmacy in a small German town and gave it a name everyone understood.

The Tiger Pharmacy.

He ran it for decades and died in 2015 at age 92.

Meritocracy is a liberal idea that serves the needs of the commercial state and is an argument for "progress," that is, the best way to achieve human progress is to destroy all natural human bonds, sort people by a set of criteria that serves the asperations of a commercial society driven by the myth of Progress, and then allow the fallout and social sorting that results as the "natural" outgrowth of the artificial sorting of people based on so-called "neutral" or "scientific" criteria.

Liberalism is the justifying philosophy for the commercial class.

Liberalism is the symptom, not the cause.

This is what many get wrong.

A lot of RW politics is about trying to rescue modernity from the negative effects of liberalism, but liberalism is an effect, not a cause.

Being on the right wing of the thinking of a commercial society, still makes you a liberal.

Being a conservative in a commercial society still makes you a liberal.

A right wing liberal and a conservative liberal are still liberals. They are liberals largely because they are committed to the commercial society and its fundamental core beliefs.

Progress. Liberalism. Parliamentary mass democracy. The managerial state. Feminism. The sexual revolution. Mass immigration.

All are downstream from the rise of the commercial class and the philosophy it has used to justify its power and dominance.
