Josiah Trenham, one of the most famous American Orthodox priests and theologians, came from California to Belgrade to venerate the belt of the Most Holy Theotokos ☦️
How did God preserve the Bible before the printing press was invented?
Rooms full of monks in the east and west faithfully copying the Scriptures.
And they were not Protestants.
The true madness lies not in the proposal itself, but in the fact that it has advanced to the point of being voted upon.
What more of a sign do you need that America has been captured by foreign parasites and aided by treasonous elements operating inside various institutions?
Yes, he condescended himself to subject his human nature to death. (The punishment we deserve)
Not as a legal transaction to pay himself off, but as a sacrifice of love to enter into death and destroy it, for our sake.
Protestants take this PSA stuff so far to say that the Father damned the Son, which of course is anti-trinitarian.
@AndrewTheCalled@m966021 Your out of context quotes are still not penalized substitutionary atonement with an angry god that damns Christ. Your gotcha isn’t cute.
@AndrewTheCalled@m966021 Saint Gregory the Theologian refutes this PSA conception. The Father did not demand his sacrifice but willed our redemption himself through Christ. Ignore the heterodox and Latinizers. https://t.co/cYYKdwK02k
Am I the dogmatic interpreter of councils?
We've had multiple statements from numerous bishops and metropolitans about this by this point and I know of a few more in the works currently. I don't think you really have an argument here.
I would simply suggest that you distance yourself from the individuals who are teaching this because they are in for but a small degree of trouble over this
@AndrewTheCalled Rather then attempting to trying to distill this topic down to a tweet, I believe this lecture from @Craig_Truglia
On the Economic Model of Atonement is far easier to post because he's far smarter than I

An absolutely phenomenal read about the causes of the current epidemic of female personality disorders, and how to prevent your daughters from being infected.
Can’t get over the ballot drop in LA of 24,000 where there wasn’t a single vote for Pratt.
If you ran for mayor in a small city where there were 24,000 votes cast, even if no one knew who you are and you never campaigned, or even if you were a universally despised pariah, you’d still get a few dozen by accident or as a joke.
The probability of this is like winning the Powerball five times in a row.
This is what 2020 was like btw
This is a simple question. Do we do more for Israel now or less? I introduced an amendment to strike 224 because I am for the American people calling the shots, not Netanyahu. I am for Team America.
When Larry Ellison donated a record-breaking amount of money to the IDF (not to US soldiers, but to the IDF), he repeatedly talked about the "country we call our own" and the importance of the IDF "to defend our home."
By "our country," he is referring to Israel, not the US.
THE CURSE OF THE FILIOQUE, THE PROPHET PALAMAS, AND THE DISENCHANTMENT OF THE WORLD
St. Gregory Palamas was prophetic when he said that the Latin conception of God would eventually lead to atheism. Deism comes directly from an ontotheological view of God, rooted in the scholastic idea of a generic God that we can dissect like a lab specimen. It's not a God known through experience, but through the worship of reason. Make no mistake: without the Latin conception of God, there would have been no Descartes, Hume, or Kant, nor the many deists of the Enlightenment.
This is the causal chain of events:
1. The Filioque (a departure from what the Holy Spirit had defined in the councils)
2. Roman Catholics begin to make statements about God's essence based on the cult of reason; dialectic corrodes theology, destroying the mystery and breaking with the idea that God is known through lived experience
3. Roman Catholics start treating God not as the Holy Trinity, but as a generic "God" (the Catholic version of Natural Theology)
4. God is pushed out of the world once His presence and actions in it are reduced to mere analogies and created effects, and the beatific vision is seen as something reserved only for after death (this plants the seed of deism)
5. Groups, movements, and schools of theological speculation emerge, detached from the patristic tradition (this sectarian spirit would later inspire the various Protestant sects)
6. Europe plunges into religious wars.
7. Philosophical visions alternative to both Catholicism and Protestantism begin to appear, but still carrying the flawed presuppositions of both (God is removed from religion)
8. Deism, the Enlightenment, and modernity
9. Atheism
From the Cathar heresy and the prelest of medieval stigmatics, to influential mystics such as Meister Eckhart, Renaissance Neoplatonism and Hermeticism, the subversive Alumbrados, Lutheran Pietism, the Devotio Moderna, Methodism, and even the modern Charismatic Movement, all of these were, in one way or another, reactions over the centuries to the sterile conception of God that emerged after the Great Schism. All of these movements reflected a desire to recover something that had been lost, even if they often pursued it in misguided ways. Quietism was one such reaction, yet Roman Catholicism ended up condemning not only its errors, but also aspects that contained genuine spiritual insight and that might have developed into a distinctly Latin form of hesychasm through figures such as John of the Cross, perhaps even providing a bridge between East and West. Even the mysticism of Jakob Bohme can be seen as part of this broader attempt to recover what had been lost.
There's a reason Orthodoxy never had to go through any of this. The Orthodox world never needed Franciscan movements, the Devotio Moderna, or Pietist reformers, and it never experienced the Enlightenment as a spiritual crisis.
That's why the idea of God as a mere object in academic manuals and catechisms, distant from us and from the world, must be strongly resisted in Orthodoxy!
The Holy Trinity must not be turned into an idol of our own minds.

Another Gregory once said:
"Concepts create idols; only wonder comprehends anything. People kill one another over idols. Wonder makes us fall to our knees"
― Saint Gregory of Nyssa
If the remaining 38% of votes cast for the LA Mayor are all allocated at the same proportion as the last batch that came in, Nithya Raman will come to within 100 votes of Spencer Pratt.
This is so precise that it appears those doing the counting know the rate at which they need to proportion the votes to eliminate Pratt.
The USS Liberty attack was how Israel formalized its occupation of the US by making it clear to the US military that its civilian leadership would support Israel murdering them.
This is the third rail of US politics & @RepThomasMassie is a hero for bringing it up in Congress.
The SAVE America Act:
✅Requires an ID to vote
✅Proof of citizenship in order to vote
✅Prohibits mail-in ballot (with limited exceptions)
Supporting the SAVE America Act truly is a no-brainer.
They’re now literally infiltrating our government, military and intelligence operations. Israelis have stolen our secrets repeatedly, now politicians - who have almost all been bribed the Israeli lobby - are letting them steal our capabilities legally. This is betraying America!
