After 22 years, PaintNET creator Rick Brewster has finally gained ownership of the paintnet domain name.
Since launching PaintNET in 2004, Brewster had to use getpaintnet as the official website because the matching domain was owned by someone else.
This often caused confusion among users searching for the program online.
The situation changed when the domain was allegedly used in a way that made visitors believe it was the official PaintNET website.
Brewster called it a โslam dunk case of trademark infringement,โ noting that PAINTNET has been a registered trademark since 2009.
Announcing the news, Brewster said he had been trying to acquire the domain for โ22 years.โ The successful transfer means PaintNET can finally use the web address that matches its name.
Many people have mentioned to me that I brighten their day, inspire them, help them. All that fun stuff.
But it's funny how I can't do it for myself. Right at this moment, I'm having a hard time fighting the idea of deactivating everything.
Hell, I'm still living in this room because my normal home hasn't been fixed from the flood. Which after this year, I won't even be able to afford anymore anyway so been spending much of my spare time looking for places.
Meanwhile, there's so much I want to do that I can't. It's to the point where streaming even as a hobby is becoming unviable, everything you hear about what needs to be done to make any progress, I can't do.
Don't mind this post though, it's just another ramble by some random person online that wouldn't matter in a week.
