During the closing ceremony of the Universal Health Coverage (UHC) Expo today at the Kapkatet Stadium, Kericho County, I held candid discussions with healthcare workers under the theme of Afya Nyumbani Dialogue.
I thanked health practitioners across the country for the selfless services they render to Kenyans on a daily basis, sometimes under difficult circumstances.
I implored them to maintain the values and tenets of their calling and jealously guard the high ground ordinary Kenyans have placed them due to their estemeed work.
In this regard, I called on them to fight the corruption virus that has infected and is eating away at the body of their profession which, ultimately, leads to a decline in health standards in the country.
I thanked Parliament for passing four crucial bills that anchor UHC, which will be signed into law by President William Ruto tomorrow ahead of Friday's Mashujaa Day celebrations.
Present were CSs @HonMoses_Kuria , @Susan Nakumicha, and PSs @muthonikenya @ Harry Kimtai @ray_omollo, @PsRonoh @PSNduva.
Others were Kakamega Governor @BarasaFernandes, Uasin Gishu Senator @GvnMandago, @EngFredMelit @ Dr.Mona Ahmed ,@DrPatrickAmoth , @edithkoki1, @ Dr.DanielMwai, @ Francis Wafula, @Dr.SimonRotich ,@MaryMwiti@petersonwachira , @OleItumbi development partners, students from secondary schools and KMTC and other delegates.
