Kankakee Valley’s Declan Murr “fell out of love” with baseball and stepped away.
He’s glad friends pulled him back.
@NoahPoser has the story for #TribSuburbanSports.

Enough with the 60 yard dash. Not one time will you run 60 yards in a straight line on a baseball field. Run a 30. Run a double. 1st to 3rd. Let's see how you cut a base. Let's measure speed that you can translate to the game.

High School Coaches
Allowing your former players, that are playing in college, and home for the break, to use your facilities should be commonplace.

Kougar Baseball will open up the season at home hosting Momence High School from Illinois on April 1st at 4:30. Very well could be the first game played against a school from another state in Kougar Baseball history, pending more research!

“Tough” players are so misunderstood.

Tough is running out an infield pop up.
Tough is going 0-15 and still being a good teammate.
Tough is overcoming a missed 2-2 pitch.
Tough is competing when every fiber in your body says it’s not worth it.

That’s tough!!!

A team puts together an opening night victory at Highland! 13 hits, 12 walks drawn, and 4HBP’s taken by the group resulted in multiple run innings to lead KV to the victory. Next up: Saturday at home against Griffith for both teams

Always leave the dugout and facility better than you found it. You’re a guest there. Appreciate the willingness to be hosted at a rivals field and show your character. One of the biggest things we preach to our guys

[Coach Swit @CoachSwit]

This summer, I have noticed the dugouts have been left in really bad shape after games. Seems like less and less people running travel teams are telling their players to leave it better than you found it! Sad

[Kougar Baseball @kougar_baseball]

First Middle School practice is in the books! Good work by our 7th and 8th graders tonight. A team and B team Rosters will be posted on here at the end of the week. 8 days until our first A team game @ Highland
