Was told by a NPS employee this tree across from Lincoln’s home in Springfield IL is the last confirmed “witness tree” that would have been standing when Lincoln lived here and would have seen. Last night’s storm has destroyed it, staff say it can’t be saved #History#Lincoln
That's our member behind the wheel. He was pulled out of the cab and suffered shock and physical injury to his arm, back and head.
The whole city is elated about our hometown team — and that includes drivers who watched the game last night at airport lots while waiting for the next fare, listened on their radios while cruising for the next job, and huddled at hotel lines with the same heart-stopping anxiety that turned into the most beautiful joy.
Pulling the cab driver out of his seat, stomping on and shattering his hood turned our joy into a nightmare.
When you see the yellow, do you not see the person behind the wheel? That's someone's spouse, child, parent or friend — a New Yorker.
He wasn’t out there for a joy ride, he was working to make ends meet and to get his fellow New Yorkers home safely.
Cabbies pay just to go to work. They pay for their cars — whether through loans or leases.
Drivers need safety on the job, both in the quiet moments of ordinary days and in the middle of public celebration.
Shame on anyone who turns these joyful moments into nightmares for fellow New Yorkers.
To everyone so eager to cancel someone for a tattoo they got at age 22, a drunk text, a selfie they took in the middle of a mental health crisis:
Show us your laptop.
Show us your iCloud.
Open your entire digital life to your worst enemy. No context. No filter. No explanation.
You won’t.
You won’t because you know what I know. Any one of us, frozen at our worst moment, photographed in our lowest hour, looks like a monster. Looks like a stranger. Looks like someone who deserves to be cast out.
That is not who we are.
My mom and baby sister were killed in a car accident when I was just a kid. Cancer took my brother Beau, my best friend and my rock. I battled alcoholism. I battled addiction. I chose the coward’s way out more times than I can count.
For years I believed the defining chapters of my life were written by tragedy, loss, and shame.
I no longer believe that.
Pain can shape us. Loss can humble us. Failures can leave scars that never fully fade. But none of them have the authority to define us.
And it sure as hell ain’t the critic that counts.
That authority belongs to us alone-the person in the arena.
Every setback presents a choice. Play the victim, or cut the bullshit and take ownership for who we become next.
Life does not determine our character. It reveals it.
Again and again we are asked the same question. When shit happens, what next?
We are not defined by what happened to us. We are not defined by the worst photo, the worst text, the worst tattoo, the worst night. We are defined by the person we choose to become. And by the courage to choose that person, every single day.
So before you reach for the gavel - show us your laptop.
You won’t.
The whole world saw mine. And I am still here. Still becoming. Still choosing. Still standing.
That is the only definition that matters.
SAMSUNG'S OWN WARRANTY JUST BACKFIRED
Louis Rossmann's 4TB SSD died under warranty. Samsung offered a $330 refund and claimed they had no replacement stock.
The same drive is on Samsung's own Amazon store for $949 - and their own warranty says he's owed market value.
- He paid $330 for the 990 Pro under two years ago, today it costs nearly 3x that
- Samsung's warranty literally promises a refund of the "then current market value" if they can't replace it
- They claimed a memory shortage while selling the exact drive on Amazon by the dozen
- He's giving them 60 days before filing in Travis County small claims court
They wrote the clause. They just never thought prices would triple.
The Knicks' success has exposed an uncomfortable truth...
New York contains a staggering number of degenerate men in their 20s, whose hobbies appear to consist of drinking and fighting in public, climbing and trashing things, and confusing antisocial behavior with civic pride.
“Let’s completely destroy a grown man’s means to provide for his family because the Knicks won a basketball game”
These people are fucking morons, hope they get facially recognized and prosecuted
😅🚔 Derrick Lewis says he already has experience fighting outside:
“The last time I fought outside, they locked me up for three and a half years, so I have experience in that.
I live in Texas. We got mosquitos and bugs all day long. Biting a*s all day. So, I’m used to that.”

@HappyPunch What in the ever living fuck are they talking about? What do they think is going to bring a billion set of eyes on this? Do they have some kind of fraud ready to be done?
Two football fans are being paid $50,000 each to watch all 104 #WorldCup games from a specially built cube in Times Square, New York. Austin Franklin & Kevin Akoto were picked from 6,000+ who applied. Fans are sitting outside the cube watching them watch the football...
@StanleyRoberts@FedEx No, this is not a FedEx warehouse. This is a Medline warehouse. I’m an employee of Medline in another state. This is a Medline warehouse, confirmed.
On Friday, Illinois Republicans will feature far right influencer Nick Shirley as a keynote speaker at their “Red Gala” fundraiser in Elk Grove Village. Shirley has filmed himself interviewing Alex Jones outside the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6. https://t.co/hWjsAWaK8T

***209 Times EXCLUSIVE***
209 Times has obtained footage of what we are being told is the origin of the huge blaze in Tracy. The entire Med Line warehouse in Tracy is on fire with embers spreading smaller fires in the grass and trees throughout the area near houses. Multiple big rigs and employees’ cars in the parking lot are also on fire. The footage appears to show the fire starting on a pallet that was stored on the top rack of the Med Line warehouse. It is also being reported that when firefighters arrived, the sprinkler system was not working. 🔥 #tracy #california
