UPI remains free for consumers, and small merchants, including kirana stores, continue to pay no MDR for accepting UPI payments.
As India's digital payments ecosystem expands, sustained investment by banks, payment companies, NPCI and RBI continues to keep UPI secure, resilient and available round the clock.

🚨India's First Airport With 6 lakh Trees, Designed by the Burj Khalifa's Architectural Firm
Airports are traditionally defined by steel, concrete, glass, and relentless movement. Bengaluru's Kempegowda International Airport Terminal 2 challenges that convention entirely. Instead of stepping into another conventional transit hub, passengers enter what feels like a living botanical garden, complete with hanging gardens, bamboo architecture, flowing water features, and lush greenery integrated into every corner of the terminal.
Widely regarded as one of the world's most beautiful airport terminals, Terminal 2 represents far more than architectural excellence. It reflects India's growing ability to combine engineering, sustainability, technology, and design into infrastructure that competes with the very best in the world.
The inspiration behind the project came from Bengaluru's identity as the "Garden City of India." Rather than constructing another glass-and-steel terminal, planners envisioned a "Terminal in a Garden", an airport that would preserve and celebrate the city's natural heritage while serving millions of passengers every year.
To bring this ambitious vision to life, globally renowned experts collaborated on the project. The architectural design was developed by the same firm behind landmarks such as Dubai's Burj Khalifa and Mumbai Airport's Terminal 2, while the landscape design drew upon expertise from the architects responsible for Singapore's iconic Gardens by the Bay.
🚨BALOCHISTAN DECLARES ITS INDEPENDENCE DAY: Seek Global Recognition as Pakistan Faces Renewed Scrutiny
The Baloch independence movement has entered a new phase after activists announced that they would observe 11 August as Balochistan's Independence Day and intensify their campaign for international recognition. The announcement reflects a growing effort by sections of the Baloch nationalist movement to bring their political aspirations onto the global stage.
The date holds symbolic significance for many Baloch nationalists. They argue that the former princely State of Kalat declared its independence on 11 August 1947 before later acceding to Pakistan under circumstances that remain deeply contested in historical and political discourse. This interpretation forms a central pillar of the movement's claim that Balochistan possesses a distinct political identity separate from Pakistan.
Alongside the renewed political campaign, Baloch advocacy groups have continued to raise allegations of enforced disappearances, arbitrary detentions, and human rights abuses in the province. Organizations representing Baloch voices have submitted reports to international human rights bodies, urging greater global attention to the situation and calling for independent scrutiny of developments inside the region.
For India, the issue remains strategically sensitive. New Delhi has, on previous occasions, expressed concern over reports of human rights violations in Balochistan, but it has not recognized any claim of Baloch independence. Any shift in official policy would carry significant diplomatic and geopolitical implications across South Asia and the broader region.
Delighted to interact with Permanent Representatives @UN from 17 countries, visiting India on a study tour.
As the global order transforms, reformed multilateralism reflecting the aspirations of the Global South is the need of the hour.
Our discussions also touched upon technology, maritime safety, peacekeeping, development partnership and disaster response.
Wish them a pleasant stay in India.

India's transformation is being built on the strength of world-class infrastructure. Across sectors such as expressways, metro rail, airports, renewable energy, defence exports, startups, healthcare and logistics, a substantial share of the country's current capacity has been created since 2014.
Under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, infrastructure has become more than just concrete and steel — it has become the engine of economic growth, employment, connectivity, national security and ease of living. Every highway, railway, airport, waterway and power project is laying the foundation for a faster, stronger and more self-reliant India.
This progress reflects a governance model driven by long-term vision, decisive policymaking and time-bound execution. The focus has remained clear: build at scale, deliver with speed and create opportunities that reach every corner of the nation.
The road to #ViksitBharat is being paved with record investments, transformative reforms and relentless execution. When infrastructure grows, the nation grows — and India is building its future like never before.

🚨MASSIVE ACHIEVEMENT BY INDIA: India Has Buit Indigenous 1200 kV Ultra High Voltage Transformer, Even US Doesn't Own Such Technology
India has achieved a major milestone in power transmission technology with the successful design, manufacturing and commissioning of its first indigenous 1200 kV Ultra High Voltage (UHV) AC transformer. Developed by BHEL through in-house research and development, the transformer has been installed and commissioned at Power Grid Corporation's 1200 kV National Test Station in Bina, Madhya Pradesh.
The transformer has now been successfully integrated into the power grid, proving its performance under real operating conditions. The transition from laboratory development to field deployment marks a significant technological leap.
Ultra-high voltage transmission is one of the most demanding areas of electrical engineering. While generating electricity has become increasingly efficient with modern technologies, transmitting massive amounts of power across thousands of kilometres with minimal losses remains a far greater challenge. This is precisely where ultra-high voltage transformers play a critical role.
The importance of this breakthrough is particularly significant as India rapidly expands its renewable energy capacity. Large solar parks in Rajasthan and Gujarat, wind projects along the southern coastline, hydropower plants in the Himalayas and future nuclear facilities are often located far from major cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad.
With this successful commissioning, India joins an exclusive group of nations like China that have demonstrated advanced capabilities in 1200 kV ultra-high voltage transmission technology. Even USA has 700-800 KV transformer
