Analysis 🔎

Bajaj Auto delivered a strong operational quarter as revenue surged 65% YoY driven by strong 1.4M unit volumes (+29% YoY), full consolidation of KTM AG (through acquisition of BAIHAG), and massive traction in its credit segments. Despite the 4.5% commodity cost pressures, operating margins held firm at 20.9% owing to favorable forex realizations and a product mix where exports (732k units) generated almost 40% of revenues. The EV segment also scaled rapidly, contributing 30% to domestic revenue as Chetak turned EBITDA positive, urging management to plan a capacity expansion from 7 Mn to 9 Mn units annually. The management also expects strong momentum to persist across premium 150cc+ motorcycles and exports in Africa and Latin America but also expects more cost inflation in Q2.
