@wisconsin_now I have not seen one candidate defend local control when it comes to data centers (they may have, I haven't seen it). Several municipalities implemented their own moratorium, while others wanted the millions in annual property tax revenue. This is a major issue for many voters.

@wisconsin_now She touts her AI moratorium by saying, "I am the only candidate to propose this." Translation: she wants to take away local control enshrined in our constitution. Some towns choose moratoriums; others welcome data centers for property tax revenue. Hong says no to local choice.

@wisconsin_now To pay for this, she proposes raising corporate tax from 7.9% to 17.7% . This would be the highest in the country. Why would any corporation stay here rather than move to Iowa, or Illinois and take their jobs with them?

@wisconsin_now And if individuals and corps do move out of state because of her highest tax rates in the land, her campaign promises would not be funded because they fully depend on taxing "the rich."

@wisconsin_now I am more concerned about what her proposals would actually mean for Wisconsinites. Like she wants to raise taxes on married couples making more than $1M to 17.7%- this woild be the highest in the country, surpassing CA by more than 3%. Why would anyone making over $1M stay here?

@wisconsin_now She has been campaigning a ton in Adams Co (one of the most rural and economically vulnerable counties in WI) and her campaigning there centers strictly on everyday economic survival. Her strategy appears to be working.

@wisconsin_now Her campaign is explicitly designed around connecting with working-class voters, specifically trying to win over conservative factory workers, dairy farmers, and cranberry growers, to build a coalition of blue-collar & service-industry workers, avoiding purely partisan rhetoric.

@wisconsin_now She dropped the "worst" of the "oppo research" on herself- bi-polar, lithium OD, cutting, all while explaining that mental health issues should not be judged. Now who is going to point out that mental instability is disqualifying for many jobs w/out looking like a bully?

@wisconsin_now Similar to Trump supporters, her supporters do not seem to care about her $30k delinquent credit card, or her $65k forgiven PPP loan. They seem set all of that aside in hopes that if she is elected, they would feel some relief from all the financial burdens they experience.
