@zethesx@SpencerHakimian I naturally think the same way but have learned others have less innocent intentions. Google the percentage of relatives that commit sexual assault on minors. To perpetrators, sexual abuse is relationship agnostic.
@Oilfield_Rando From the numerous ones I know, by the time a refugee visits the country they fled, a couple of things would have already happened. 1. They have already become a naturalized citizen of the US through legal process. 2. The threat they originally fled is gone.
@realjoevazquez @DecaturTenant @trucker_mfc@only_brans@MAGAVoice Refugees only get it for a short period of time. I know a lot of refugees that used them until starting a job the rest of us wouldn't want, become citizens and pay taxes. Refugees come here through a legal process with nothing, but they want to work and contribute to society.
@AlphXBT@unusual_whales I've been thinking about this too. Mortgage backed securities (MBS) and sub-prime lending were the main culprits. One difference: lending regs tightened. If those rules are being followed, history won't repeat exactly the same but MBS still exist under a different name.
@dfdfdfd243799@unusual_whales This was already a law in most places for real estate. It's was abused with price fixing agreements between mortgage companies. They say it allows for fair market pricing as opposed to brokers taking advantage of Americans... But then again, look at current housing prices.
@photodadfl@Niener7T@KrahenHexe@VigilantFox@grok Not taking sides but I'm a numbers person. If states like CA and NY etc. didn't foot the majority of the fed tax bill for the rest of the country, the "socialism" the right claims they're so against while depending on subsidies... many red states would not do well.
@TheKevinDalton@GavinNewsom Not a political statement, a critical thinking review. Let's compare the US and California - the debt to GDP says a lot. It's worth noting that the overwhelming majority of federal tax dollars comes from blue states, like CA and NY, and distributed to red ones.
@LucasSPEEDWORKS@SocratesSword@allenanalysis I don't agree with burning the flag, but to be fair, not every fire is arson either. In the same way the right to bear arms doesn't mean you can shoot an innocent person, yet it's not murder every time a gun is shot. Hunting is as legal as a bonfire in the right setting.
@RideErdie1@ultra_orbs@Reform_West@GavinNewsom Real question, what blackmail are you referring to? Not trying to argue or call names, I simply want to understand... Also, I can't believe real questions have to be prefaced this way 😂, but I know they do.
@DawnRoebuck8@Maxd_Vaxd@GeneralMCNews should simply be freedom of speech (besides provoking/ planning violence), political views aside. There's plenty of "behaviors" I don't agree with but those that do can talk about it all they want, as long as they don't do it in front of my kids or get in my face like a jackass.
@d2fl@MarylouMFerrara@danpfeiffer In cash, there has to be a paper trail to cover money laundering concerns. If it was dropped, could there be a paper trail that wasn't mentioned?
@Reform_West@elonmusk Muslims are not inherently bad, it's extremist beliefs that become problematic. To be completely fair, the same can be said about other religions, belief systems and political views.
@WhiteHouse@SecWar Real question, not criticizing (at the moment), but why are time and resources being spent on this? If the country was being run like a business, like many hoped for, wouldn't it be better to use those resources elsewhere?
