QUESTION: How comes Raila supporters from Luo Nyanza insist Ruto's government has not appointed ANY LUO yet there is quite a number of Luos appointed by Ruto at very senior levels?

ANSWER: A typical Luo supporter of Raila believes the world revolves around the Son of Adonijah. In other words, Luos can only work in Ruto's government with Raila's blessing.

And since Ruto appointed Luos into his government without consulting Raila, all the appointees are ILLEGITIMATE and traitors.

That's why Luo supporters of Raila have no problem shouting "we want an inclusive government" while referring to Luos in government as traitors.

In short, until Raila (or the people he seconds) feature in Ruto's government, the government remains illegitimate and anti-Luos.

Whenever I see my people, the Luos, claim they are the most democratic people in Kenya, I laugh aloud.

Since Multiparty Elections began in Kenya, Luos have only voted for a Luo President...specifically an Odinga.

1. In 1992, Luos unanimously voted for Jaramogi

2. In 1997, Luos threw their weight behind Raila

3. In 2002, Luos voted for EXECUTIVE PRIME MINISTER RAILA.

Luos voted for Kibaki in name, because he was to be CEREMONIAL PRESIDENT as Raila was to be the EXECUTIVE PM and Head of Government.

That's why Luos rejected Kibaki barely 3 months after voting for him, as soon as they realized he wasn't giving Baba the PM.

4. In 2007, Luos as expected voted for an Odinga (Raila).

5. They did the same in 2013, 2017 and 2022. And they'll still vote for Raila in 2027.

In short, we are tribal to core but for some reasons have decided to pretend we are not.

We've never voted for anyone else other than our own, but feel very owed!

In fact, we feel offended when other communities don't "rudisha mkono" by voting for our Raila.

Truly, being a Luo is a calling
