Ali Bongo shutdown the internet during elections so he could rig outside the watchful eye of the international community. The Gabon military has restored the same internet so that Bongo could use it to plead for his friends to make some noise. Wabebeee!
Gabon president under home arrest after a successful military coup. The former strongman is pleading with the same people he has been oppressing to save him
Gabon's ousted President Ali Bongo once imported fake snow to the Presidential Palace, so his family could have a snowy Christmas.
33.4% of Gabon's population live in poverty despite being oil rich and having a population of only 2.4 million people.
Imagine the Bongo family has ruled Gabon for 56 years. President Ali Bongo's Father Omar Bongo ruled for 42 years and now Ali Bongo has ruled for 14 years since 2009. Imagine Gabon is Africa's 7th producer of oil and third exporter of timber but the poverty levels in Gabon is very high. Imagine the wife, son and daughters of President Ali Bongo are all Ministers in Gabon.
"We are putting an end to the current regime," #Gabon soldiers say on TV early Wednesday.
Daktari, @WilliamsRuto. When are you going on a working tour of North Eastern Kenya? NFD residents would also want to see you launch village sand dunes as you threaten sugar cartels on top of your sunroof. Don't let Duale and Kindiki lie to you, toka WhatsApp, enda ground.
The President, the Deputy President are all in Kakamega for the opening of a bed unit. These creatures can even attend a common opening of an envelope. Idle Government officials.
4 Billion to stabilize prices of maize. Can someone please tell me whether government has changed its distaste for SUBSIDIES. Please spare us the semantics like the one we were treated to as we argued over STABALiZERS and SUBSIDIES.
There's no Uhuru to blame anymore. Ruto is busy on sunroofs launching village footpaths and issuing death threats to foreign investors. The people of Mpeketoni should wait for 2027 when he shall come to Lamu for a working tour. As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.
BREAKING: Gabonese military officers seize power after the reelection of President Ali Bongo.
"We are putting an end to the current regime," #Gabon soldiers say on TV early Wednesday.
We all remember that in 2018, Uhuru Kenyatta kept pleading with Ruto to stop early campaigns, so that they first focus on work. But Ruto could hear non of it. He mobilized RV and Mt. Kenya MPs, and car rooftops became their favourite spot. Kutangatanga became the order of the day. Uhuru was left on his own, thinking through the legacy projects he had to deliver before the term ends and in that second term, he was able to deliver way more development projects from hospital to transport infrastructure etc, than the first term. Farmers also started enjoying the best coffee prices ever in the Kenya’s history, the best macadamia prices etc.
In 2020 and 2021, Uhuru carried us through the worst global crisis in the 21st Century. He took various measures to save as many lives, and to cushion Kenyans from the economic meltdown. The country survived through it all. The ksh never sank to the point it is today, neither did the NSE. Meanwhile his deputy was still on rooftops campaigning.
Now Ruto is the president and Uhuru is no longer there. As the NSE experiences the worst losses ever, as the KSH receives the worst beating, as companies close and thousands of Kenyans lose jobs, as Kenyans struggle to get basic documents and other government services, the guy who recently admitted of having a team of incompetent CSs and PSs instead of providing leadership and governing has gone back to what he knows best…. campaigning. He is back on car rooftops politicking and threatening investors less than an year after elections, and never has time to sit still for a while to think through decisions and strategies. Everything is a roadside declaration, no wonder one of his advisers was complaining about the guy’s uninformed pronouncements on matters he does not understand.
We are in for a very rough ride folks 😭
