A 19-year-old detained protester is facing charges that could carry the death penalty, people familiar with the matter told Iran International.

Mohammad Karimkhani has been accused of “espionage” and “collaboration with Israel” in connection with nationwide protests and allegations that he “made Molotov cocktails and possessed wartime ammunition,” according to the indictment.

Karimkhani is at risk of being issued a death sentence, the sources told Iran International.

Sources told Iran International that judicial authorities have so far prevented Karimkhani from accessing legal counsel.

A girl of 12 was “targeted” by two Muslims and raped a court heard.

Ahmad Mulakhil, 23, is alleged to have raped, sexually assaulted and taken indecent mobile phone photographs of the girl in Nuneaton.

Prosecutors also allege his co-defendant Mohammad Kabir, 24, grabbed the girl by the neck, intending to take her away to commit a sexual offence.

Prosecutors say Mohammad Kabir, when he tried to take her away, can only have had some sexual purpose.

He talked to her and led her away to a secluded cul‑de‑sac, Cheverel Place, where he raped her, sexually assaulted her and took indecent images of her.

"He is charged with child abduction, vaginal and anal rape, counts of sexual assault and making indecent images of a child.”

Jurors were told Mulakhil had pleaded guilty to a charge of oral rape of the 12-year-old.

But denies child abduction, two counts of rape, two counts of sexual assault and taking indecent photographs of a child.
