I miss it. The farther game consoles advance, the more personality they seem to lose, and the more it affects the players. Things like Miiverse gave a feeling to owning a console that nothing has managed to do since.

With the recent wave of nostalgia for the 3DS it’s been fun to see the games that people play on NetPass in 2024. I don’t think the Back Alley function works correctly, though.

Even though 3DS piracy wasn’t big back then, the games were a lot more affordable at 40 bucks and there were frequent sales in the eShop. People would have quite the big collection.
