🚨 Thoothukudi-based Cosmicport has successfully completed the first hot-fire test of their Methalox cryogenic engine.
This is the engine that will power Cosmicport’s small-lift launch vehicle called Mach Blue.
This bootstrapped startup just completed the first successful hot-fire test of their cryogenic methalox engine.
And they did it from their own test facility called SPARC.
Which they built in under 3 months.
This engine is called Cryonix.
Each of these engines will be capable of producing a thrust of 100kN.
And nine of these engines will power their own small lift launch vehicle called Mach Blue.
They are planning to do commercial launches within the next 3 years.
Maiden flight-test of ‘Kusha’ Long-Range Surface-to-Air Missile was successfully conducted from the APJ Abdul Kalam Island off the coast of Odisha today. This test was conducted against an electronic target simulating high-speed and high-altitude aerial threat which was successfully intercepted by the missile system.
The @DRDO_India has successfully conducted the maiden flight test of Long-Range Surface-to-Air Missile Kusha today from the APJ Abdul Kalam Island off the coast of Odisha.
Kusha missile system is capable of neutralising wide variety of aerial threats including fighter jets, missiles, UAVs and large enemy aircrafts within a wide range and altitude envelope.
Today’s successful test flight of Kusha marks an important milestone in Indian defence R&D. The capability in developing long range surface-to-air missile system is possessed only by a handful of nations. This will also eliminate the import dependency for such systems and signifies a giant leap in air defence capability of the nation. I congratulate DRDO and other stakeholders for this achievement.
DRDO successfully conducted the maiden flight-test of the indigenous ‘Kusha’ Long-Range Surface-to-Air Missile from APJ Abdul Kalam Island, Odisha, successfully intercepting a high-speed, high-altitude aerial target. The advanced system is capable of engaging a wide spectrum of aerial threats across long ranges and varied altitudes, marking a major milestone in India’s indigenous air defence capability.

Future proofing India’s strategic communication networks with quantum technology, DRDO has successfully completed military field trails of a scalable and practically secure, fiber based Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) system.
Leveraging their lab level proof of concept and experience of previous trials, the DRDO team with their industry partner, Taqbit Labs, Bengaluru has successfully architected and productized this advanced system to secure critical networks.
This milestone successfully lays the foundation for a large-scale, multi-hop quantum networks that is indigenously designed and can seamlessly safeguard national communication infrastructure against emerging cyber threats in the quantum era. #AatmanirbharBharat #QuantumTechnology #DefenseInnovation #MakeInIndia #CyberSecurity #QuantumSafe #DeepTechIndia
