This hackathon made me realize what a great combination of tech and legal do. If our engineers and lawyers are put towards a problem, they find very intuitive problems to solve and very intuitive solutions to it.
🚀 Adalat AI just held its first-ever hackathon.
What happens when lawyers, AI researchers, engineers, designers, linguists, and justice-system practitioners build together for a weekend? Last week, we found out. 🧵
inspired by @Adalat_AI and their relentless pursuit of digitizing India’s courtrooms. Glad that @orgho12 & @utkarsh__saxena chose @actgrants as their venture philanthropy partner https://t.co/9KWKs9xwZ6
Nobody asked but here it is : Tipu Sultan never ruled Mysore. He was just a military leader who acted like a king, and the Wadiyar family was still ruling (like puppet) Mysore in anglo Indian war. I was in impression all my life that Tipu Sultan was the king of Mysore kingdom.
Someone told me few days ago that you are on a free trial of your body till 25, and after 25 you are on a paid version, so start being healthy because you will be paying for every alcoholic drink, every smoke you do.
Everyone's talking about YC Startup School.
But I'm still recovering from VibeCon.
The event was great...
...but the footpath to reach wasn't.
I encountered:
- Busted pedestrian infra
- Many deep pits
- Lots of trash
But also good people 🤍
Oh, and I did it on rollerblades.
1/ Big week ahead for @AdalatAI 🇮🇳🤖
As part of the @OfficialINDIAai Mission cohort and a partner of @GoI_MeitY, we’re proud to support the Government of India at the India AI Impact Summit 2026 in multiple ways.
We’ll be participating across the Summit next week. ⬇️
Happy new year to my designer friends!
Hot take: the separation of UX research, UX design, and product design only makes sense when you're building for well-understood users. When there are existing patterns to reference, best practices to follow, competitors to study.
But what happens when none of that exists?
At @Adalat_AI , we're building for India's judiciary courtrooms, judges, lawyers, citizens navigating the legal system. No one has studied these workflows. No one has defined these UX patterns. There's no playbook.
In this world, the traditional SaaS model breaks down. You can't have a PM write a spec from research that doesn't exist. You can't have a researcher hand off insights for a designer to "execute." The whole thing has to happen together, in the same head, in the same team.
That's why we don't have traditional PMs. Designers and engineers own the product talking to users, defining problems, shipping. Research and design aren't separate functions, they're intertwined because they have to be.
For the right designer, this is the most exciting kind of problem. You're defining what good looks like for an audience that's never been served.
We're hiring two designers, one to scale a product already in 20% of India's courtrooms, one to build 0→1 with me. Remote-first, India.
