Ordinarily, Identity is built from names, memories, beliefs, achievements, and roles. "This is who I am," the mind says. Yet Zen gently asks whether any of these existed before birth - or whether they are simply garments worn for a little while.

If they can appear and disappear, can they truly be the deepest self?

The "Original Face" points beyond every label and every story. It invites direct recognition of the awareness that is never stained by success or failure, praise or blame, gain or loss.

Like the open sky behind passing clouds, it remains unchanged while the weather of life continually shifts.

Zen does not ask anyone to become someone else.

It asks only that the borrowed masks be laid down for a moment.

In that quietness, nothing new is created.

Rather, something timeless is recognized.

The Original Face has never been absent.
