@tbmtakt We have seen this song and dance many a Time in the west.
We're provided two fantastic games only for the third to be over monetized and disrespectful of our time.
And we are threatened that if we want to see the next game we will shut up and smile and give them all our money
Seeing the comments under this has pointed out how contrasting JP/US viewpoints are.
We don't trust the system cause it's abused us. While Most of JP blindly follows because Morals above self worth.
I respect the JP people but come on. Not every corpo care about us, only $$$.
Seeing the JP/US piracy argument on here's made me realize that a lot of Japanese people unironically do believe that corporations and legal entities have nothing but their best interests at heart, and ngl it's made a lot of things start to make sense for me
@0OcFIgnMCj7nDZy Listen to the discussion that everyone has been having.
We would gladly and excitedly and contribute to their growth and wealth if we were permitted proper and appropriate methods and prices.
Buying use or second hand does not benefit them either. Only resellers.
@pontarou49 If purchasing is not ownership it is rental. Then piracy is not stealing cuz there was nothing to own.
We buy with faith and Goodwill but we are threatened with sudden and spontaneous removal of Rights at any instant.
@renai_iyashi I understand that perfectly.
But please explain. Hideo Kojima and Konami 2015.
How was Kojima respected? How was Kojima treated fairly?
Not all Japanese companies have perfect values as you claim.
Why blind obedience if you are rewarded with unceremonial dismissal?
@aa6527538362567 Same for the sheep that don't see the slaughter before them because their beds are comfy and their bellies are full.
Blind obedience is the quickest way to one's demise.
@telltellboz1 And our distressed is because companies over here will buy out to control the entire market, industry, or space when possible.
Most areas we only have one option and others. We have maybe three. All owned and controlled by the same company.
Indies are forced out of market.
@pinfu_99 Understand the distrust malice towards corporations are mainly towards our corporations, not yours.
Most of the companies we interact with will do anything for profit at the expense of everyone.
EA and Ubisoft perfect examples. We all know it. We've all seen it.
@MasterDs2_3 I'm aware and I respect that, but that's a uniquely Japanese thing.
Corporations and government here operating secret in deceit and the self-interest.
Authority is for sale and poisoned honey is present everywhere.
@bangohanforyou We do not like being excluded unfairly. We will fight for your right to be a part of something when we're excluded.
Look at helldivers 2, we protested, refunded, and spoke up for all the countries that were forcibly excluded due to Sony's unfairs.
Looks like a lot of these translations being done automatically are of increasingly poor quality.
Which has amplified the disconnect and the hostility between JP and the world.
Upon correcting and trying to understand, we are met with ignorance and hate.
JP come on...
Tekken 8 sold only 20k physical in Japan at launch in its first week, since digital percentage is around 50% in Japan on PS5 now that means Tekken 8 only sold around 40k total in Japan in its first week at launch while it had sold 1 million worldwide in its first week and had sold 2 million worldwide by its 1st month from launch.
Tekken 8 in Japan had fallen to 30th aka last place on the physical charts by week 3 before falling off the chart entirely by week 4, where it sold only 2.2k units in Japan in week 3 and had sold only 5.3k units in its 2nd week, so by week 3 Tekken 8 had sold a total of around 30k units physically in Japan, which with digital percentage factored in would mean Tekken 8 only sold around 60k in total in Japan by the end of its 3rd week on sale, while it had sold 2 million worldwide by that time, meaning the total Japanese percentage of Tekken 8 buyers are under 4% of the people who financially supported Tekken 8.
If Tekken 8 didn't sell outside Japan it would have been a catastrophic failure and a commercial bomb that made no profit at all you fucking idiot and Bandai Namco actually could've irreparably suffered as a result, if it wasn't for the US, EU and Asia sales outside of Japan ensuring that Tekken 8 could even be profitable then Tekken 8 would have been a massive flop you dumbass.
@saku_not_rat Prototype is one of my top five games of all times. It's a game that provided so much freedom of movement and joy that we had not seen to that degree.
The only game that compared was infamous.
They were compared to each other constantly over here. Both fantastic games.
@saku_not_rat I understand the desire to avoid the subject out of fear and respect for the larger implications.
But for us that is being complicit with oppression and willingly submitting your control to others.
Regrettably one thing Americans don't like is being silenced about unfairness.
It's become very apparent that for Japanese people (generalizing), stuff like resistance, rioting, rebellion, justice, etc, are all just for aesthetic. They like putting these themes in their manga and anime just for entertainment, but won't understand why they happen irl.
Holy shit!
The blatant racism and lack of understanding and refusal to understand.
I countered everything with logic and reason and perspective. Only to be dismissed and blocked.
Thank you for hurting your nation's image instead of improving it.
What a shame...
@totekoya Americans don't directly elect the president.
The "Electoral College" decides who wins.
Someone can lose the popular vote and still become president.
So telling Americans to "just elect someone better" ignores how our system actually works.
@totekoya I've spent this entire conversation criticizing broken laws, corporate influence, and a system that makes reform difficult. That's not waiting for someone to save me.
I support creators and buy games I value.
Criticism isn't theft, and calling me a whiner isn't an argument.
@totekoya We arent able to change our system that freely, we are silenced, and in some cases oppressed, to keep the system we have in place today.
Most of us are one phrase away from having the FBI, CIA & CBP at our door for standing up for change.
