(1) Sorry for using this tag, but after everything that has happened, I still want to express my thoughts and feelings from a fan’s perspective.
After watching today’s interview, I honestly feel even more disappointed than before.
I have tried to understand her perspective as an artist. I understand that she has her own life, her own feelings, and the right to decide who she wants to get to know or eventually be with. I have never believed that being a CP fan gives us the right to control her personal life, nor do I believe she should have to choose a partner based on what her fans want.
But I feel that this argument misses the entire point of why so many fans were hurt.
This was never simply about who she chooses to date. It was about what happened on September 12, how it affected the people who had been looking forward to that day, and how those feelings were treated afterwards.
September 12 was a day that many fans had anticipated for a long time. People made plans, spent money, travelled, and looked forward to sharing a happy moment with them. Yet, just hours before the main event, a situation unfolded that overshadowed what was supposed to be a meaningful day for those fans.
We cannot change what happened that day. But surely, we are allowed to talk about how it made us feel.
What makes this situation so difficult to move past is not simply the incident itself, but everything that followed. Instead of feeling that our disappointment was genuinely understood, fans found themselves having to explain why they were hurt in the first place. Some were accused of being controlling, labelled as antis, or made to feel that their disappointment meant they were not truly supportive.
So I want to ask: when did expressing hurt become the same thing as trying to control an artist’s life?
We can accept that she has the freedom to choose whom she wants to be with. We can accept that the relationship between two people may change over time. We can even accept that the future may not turn out the way we once hoped. None of these things mean we should have to pretend that the events of September 12 did not hurt us.
If she had simply spoken about getting to know someone, I genuinely believe the reaction from fans would have been very different. People might have had mixed emotions, but that would have been a different situation. What happened on September 12 cannot simply be reduced to fans being unable to accept someone entering her life. Doing so ignores the timing, the circumstances, and the reasons people were upset.
And this is why today’s interview was particularly difficult for me to watch.
Hearing her describe that person so positively and say that the statement was handled well does not, by itself, resolve the issue that fans have been struggling with. Instead, it leaves me wondering whether she understands why so many people were hurt in the first place.
From her perspective, perhaps the statement was sufficient. Perhaps she believes the situation has been dealt with and that everyone should now move forward. But a response can feel sufficient to one person and still leave the people affected by the situation feeling unheard.
What is especially painful is the contrast between the understanding and support being expressed towards that person and the way fans have been treated when they try to explain their disappointment. The other person can be praised, defended, and given the benefit of the doubt, while fans are told to accept the situation or leave if they cannot.
Why does understanding seem so readily available for one side, but so difficult to extend to the people who were hurt?
This is not about demanding that she condemn anyone or choose sides according to our wishes. It is about asking whether the feelings of the fans have ever been given the same serious consideration.

(2)I also cannot ignore the fact that her partner has been affected by this situation. If respect is something we are expected to give her, then surely respect and consideration should extend to her partner and the fans as well. Respect should not become a one-sided responsibility, demanded from fans while their own feelings are dismissed.
Five years of support do not give fans ownership over an artist. I want to make that absolutely clear. But those five years were not meaningless, either. They represent time, trust, memories, emotional investment, and the happiness people found in supporting them together. Fans are not wrong for having cared deeply about something that became an important part of their lives.
And when that bond is affected by a situation like this, it is unfair to act as though those feelings can simply be discarded. Telling people that those who want to leave are free to leave may be true, but it does not address why they feel they have been pushed to that point.
The freedom to leave is not the same as feeling that your hurt has been understood.
It has been a month since September 12. Some people may say they have moved on, and perhaps they are genuinely trying to. But moving forward does not mean forgetting, and it certainly does not mean that the hurt will never resurface. When we hear responses that seem to overlook the reasons we were hurt, those feelings return. That does not necessarily mean we want more drama. Sometimes, it simply means that the issue has never felt resolved from our side.
What I find most disappointing is that, throughout this entire situation, I have struggled to see genuine consideration for the fans’ perspective. I can understand her wanting to protect her own happiness and the people she cares about. But I wish she had also taken a moment to consider the people who had supported her for years, rather than leaving them feeling that their only options were to accept everything quietly or walk away.
Perhaps this is where my feelings have changed the most. I can understand her as an artist, but I cannot agree with the way this situation has been handled. And honestly, there are moments when that handling feels selfish to me, because it seems that so much consideration has been given to protecting certain people, while the feelings of other people affected by the situation have received far less attention.
I am not asking her to choose CP fans over anyone else. I am not asking her to give up her right to love, to date, or to make her own decisions. I am asking for something much simpler: acknowledgement that the way a situation unfolds matters, that the feelings of the people affected by it matter, and that fans should not have to be made to feel unreasonable just because they are hurt.
If respect is what she hopes to receive from her fans, then I hope she can understand that respect also means taking the time to consider how her actions and the handling of a situation affect others. We should not be expected to offer understanding endlessly while feeling that none is being offered in return.
I can respect her choices and still be disappointed in her. I can understand her position without agreeing with her decisions. Those feelings can exist together.
And I believe that is what people keep misunderstanding about CP fans. We are not asking to control her future. We are asking for our feelings about what has already happened to be taken seriously.
Lastly, if anyone disagrees with my perspective, you are welcome to express your own opinion. I understand that not everyone will see this situation the same way, and I am not asking everyone to agree with me.
But throughout this entire situation, I have rarely felt that people have genuinely tried to see things from our side. We have had to carry the disappointment ourselves, while also defending our right to feel disappointed.
