He/Him. Chair of @mdc_dsa. Steering committee member, former MDC DSA Labor Working Group co-chair. Tweets are my opinion and don't reflect opinions of any org
I wrote about a glaring issue with I83. Are @DCDemocrats aware that their voters will not have a voice in the second At-Large seat? I'm not against rank choice, but this impl is bad https://t.co/zuEhjlnohl
Brother our whole point is we don’t like the results of you being “on the issue” like??? If Councilmember McDuffie oversaw DC getting the highest utility bills in the country… what can we assume Mayor McDuffie would do??
Got some bad news for you on the "fringe group" thing. Wishing it were so does not make it so. Also lol Hilda Mason was a DSA member. Just goes to show that what's "radical" today is generally common sense and decent tomorrow.
Ashley’s post is absolutely spot-on! Janeese Lewis George has arguably the most radical voting record in the history of DC Council. She represents all of Ward 4 now, but her voting record is in lockstep with the agenda of the fringe group, Democratic Socialists of America. (1/3)
DC you listen to me! If you're near a convenience store right now—any type of 24 hour store—go into the store right now, and put your hand in the cash register for no reason!!
Their money is your money... as of right now!
In the world of DSA politics, criminals are always exalted to the highest level of society, while victims and innocent citizens are scolded and chastised for even reporting that a crime took place.
I'm not opposed to RCV, but I am worried about this flattening "all love" dynamic that pretends that things will be fine regardless, so just pick your favorite aesthetic. This election will be part of determining whether DC works with labor, just tolerates labor, or fights labor
I'm glad folks are enjoying good vibes, but we should be clear that this is not an election of equal choices. We do not have equally great candidates. We have one great candidate, one replacement level candidate, and one below replacement candidate.
Ward 1 is lucky it has three really great candidates running for Council.
As we near Election Day, some of the attacks we’re seeing are getting silly.
My unsolicited but earnest advice is to vote for who you’re most excited about #1, spend less time sniping, and rank all three!
Dear fellow Dems in Ward 1: I’m a lifelong Democrat who has worked to elect Dems in DC and across the country. I also stand in staunch opposition to genocide.
I will always stand by my values, fight fascism, and push the Democratic Party to be the party of the working class.
This morning, Local 689 showed up to protest @wmata press conference about their fare enforcement outreach. The data is clear: when bus operators quote the fare, it leads to fare disputes which often results in attacks against operators.
Reminder that when it came time to take a stand on juvenile curfews, @MiguelWard1_ as ANC Chair chose abstention. Not yes. Not no. ABSTAIN.
Leadership means making hard calls especially when youth rights and public safety are both on the line.

McDuffie voted to stop elimination of the subminimum wage TWICE - after dc voters voted for it, twice. He voted to freeze a $2/hr wage increase last yr, at a time when inflation is record high.
When the local DSA lead the I82 campaign, it passed in every precinct in the city.
David is a small business owner in Ward 1 and longtime resident of Mount Pleasant.
He supports Aparna for the Ward 1 seat on the DC Council because of her moral clarity and commitment to fighting for the people of DC

.@kenyanmcduffie helped lead the effort on Council to cut wages for restaurant workers. Looks like restaurant owners have his back! Just another anti-worker group supporting an anti-worker candidate.
Me personally? I think progressives are the ones who are backed by labor unions and the working class. A funny use of the word progressive for a candidate with ZERO labor union endorsements. But hey, that’s just me!
