Questions:
Is Pebble Beach now obsolete?
I’m talking about for the modern PGA Tour player. All the par 5’s are simple for them. They hit wedge or SW to almost all the par 4’s. Pebble Beach is extended to the max.
It’s my favorite all time course. I love it, but technology has made it too easy.
Is it great for 99% of golfers. Absolutely yes! There’s no public golf course that compares to the magnificent golf holes at Pebble Beach.
Next question:
Wasn’t it better to have the amateurs and the celebrities playing on the weekend? I think this made this one tour event different and special.

These guys are amazing. Three more bunkers refreshed with new turf on the eyebrows and those bunkers on 7 green have been prepared for new turf. Another truck load of sod coming next week.
Everyone knows the ball goes a lot shorter near the ocean in San Francisco. Olympic is the longest short course in golf. The air is very heavy most days at Olympic. But did you notice the two finalist were hitting the ball 350 or longer on some holes? The ball goes longer every year! Almost every course in America has tried to lengthen out and use every inch of their property. Have any of you ever watched a high school golfer hit a driver these days? There are very few driving ranges long enough for the modern game.
@letitflye@tylermeredith@USAmbCanada Come on Mark. You have been to Canada several times and were paid well and treated well. We need to all act like neighbours that respect each other.
Any of you golfers out there taking the Gil Hanse drone tour of Oakmont at present? This is unbelievably amazing! To get to hear a brilliant designer do a flyover, shot by shot, slope by slope analysis of the course he just restored is a rare treat. Savor it.
