*** Where Was Mecca-Makkah Originally Located ? ***

In my previous TwiX, I speculated that Mecca (Makkah) was not the true birth-place of lslam.  This is reinforced by contrarian descriptions in the Koran:

….  There is no ancient archaeology at Mecca-Makkah.
….  Mecca-Makkah was not on a trade route.
….  Thus Mecca-Makkah was not a ‘center of trade’.
.…  Mecca-Makkah did not have city walls.
….  Mecca-Makkah did not appear on maps before 740 BC.
….  Mecca-Makkah was not big enough to maintain an army.
….  Mecca-Makkah did not have a large enough water-hole.
….  Thus Mecca-Makkah was hardly the ‘Mother of all Cities’.
….  Mecca-Makkah was not a focal point of pilgrimage.
….  Mecca-Makkah did not have grasses, trees, and game - it is in a desert.

But if the original Makkah was not at modern Mecca-Makkah, then where could it have been?  The video below points towards Petra as being Makkah, because it lies on the old Arabian trade routes, and is sufficiently irrigated to have trees and animals. But I don’t think this is correct, for Petra was rather too well known to be the Forbidden Meeting Place (the Masjid Al Haram, or ancient Makkah).

The other possibility lies at the other end of this same Arabian trade route; that runs from Petra, to Khaybar, to Medina, to Najran (missing out modern Mecca-Makkah), and onto Marib in Saba-Sheba. Yes, at the other end of this same trade route lies Marib, which had long been a production hub for aromatic spices and hashish.  Saba-Sheba needed easy-transportable high-value cash crops for trade, and the spice and hashish trade to the Roman and then Byzantine Empires had been very profitable indeed.

Surprisingly, Marib in Sheba-Saba would fit all of the above descriptions for old Makkah rather well.  Pliny described the region as the land of 65 temples, so there was obviously a sacred element to this region.  Just east of the famed Marib dam was the fertile valley of Marib, with the ancient city nestled within, so there were indeed grasses, trees, and game to be found.  Plus Marib was a largish city with huge city walls, encompassing many magnificent high-rise apartments within.

More importantly perhaps, the main temple at Marib was called the Temple of Al Makkah (also known as the Temple of Awwam and Bilqis).  As mentioned in my previous TwiX, Bilqis is the Arabian name for the Queen of Sheba. And in my book “Solomon, Pharaoh of Egypt”, the Queen of Sheba was called Maakhah, which was the name given to the mother and wife of King Solomon.

As also mentioned in that previous TwiX, the Koran does indeed mention the Sabaeans of Marib, and their famous dam that burst in this era (K 34:15).  So Muhummad knew of this region, and as a trader (before he became a bandit and highwayman), may have travelled to Sheba and Marib.  He even describes the two gardens on the left and right of the river valley, as can be seen on the modern aerial map.

So the question remains - was the original Forbidden Temple of Makkah, actually the old Temple of Makkah in Marib?

Tentative proof can perhaps be seen in the layout of the Temple of Makkah in Marib, which is an oval temple precinct for circling rituals - the very same circling rituals that are still performed in modern Makkah to this day.

The old Temple of Makkah was a Sabaean temple, and the Sabaeans were star worshippers (from the Egyptian seba or sheba meaning ‘star’).  So it is axionatic that in these circling rituals, the circling faithful represented the stars in the northern heavens rotating around the pole-star.  How deliciously pagan, that Muslims are still reinacting the motions of the cosmos in their rituals at modern Mecca-Makkah.

So yes, the old Temple of Makkah mentioned in the Koran, may well have been the Temple of Makkah at Marib.

He spent 13 years at ISRO working on the cryogenic engines behind Chandrayaan and Gaganyaan. Then he left to build the one engine ISRO had never attempted, and that only one company on Earth has ever flown.

His name is Devakumar Thammisetty.

After more than a decade inside India's space programme, he went to EPFL in Switzerland to study a single question: how do you make a rocket engine that can fly again and again?

The answer he came back with is called full-flow staged combustion. It burns methane with liquid oxygen and routes every drop of both propellants through the turbines before they reach the chamber, which makes the engine more efficient, gentler on its own components, and far better suited to being reused.

It is also brutally difficult. Only a handful of these engines have ever been tested anywhere in the world. Only SpaceX's Raptor has flown one. Astrobase calls it the hardest rocket engine cycle ever built.

The man funding it made his money somewhere unexpected.

Neeraj Khandelwal is an IIT Bombay graduate who spent the last decade co-founding CoinDCX and scaling it past 15 million users and a $2.1 billion valuation. He is Astrobase's primary investor. "Building India's first FFSC rocket engine means building the factory that can build the engine," he has said. "No shortcuts."

They founded Astrobase in Bengaluru in 2024, along with two more former ISRO scientists, Pawan Kumar and Prashant M.

A sub-scale engine hot fire in September 2025. High-speed turbopump tests in January 2026. The full engine design and manufacturing milestone in August 2026. A 21.5-acre propulsion test facility in Anantapur. In June 2026, IN-SPACe chose them from 43 applicants for its Technology Adoption Fund.

SpaceX and Blue Origin each spent billions and most of a decade getting their staged combustion engines to work. Astrobase has raised around $10 million.

The full engine hot fire is next. Four countries have ever tested an engine like this and India is not one of them yet.

THE FRENCH MAYOR SPEAKS: The video that completely dismantles the Eiffel Tower media narrative.

For seven days, television networks (Quotidien, @CBSNews ) and political commentators (@thewire_in, ) claimed that visiting Hindu monks "demanded women be hidden from public buildings" and "alienated France."

Now, watch the actual French Mayor of Bussy-Saint-Georges, Yann Dubosc, address visiting French mayors, municipal officials, and interfaith leaders on camera inside the new Mandir:

1. THE SMOKING GUN: FEMALE STAFF IN CITY HALL WERE NEVER MOVED
Mayor Dubosc recounts on the record:
"In 2023, we received a delegation of BAPS monks for a meeting in City Hall. When this delegation arrived, we were NEVER asked to move anyone at all, including female staff. My secretaries were never asked to disappear when the monks entered our office. Not only did such a scene never take place, but I would never have accepted it anyway."
