Income tax is based on income within a specified period. If the person only got 7 months of salary and TDS for those 7 months only... the person doesn't pay taxes on future income.

@Kaira94124647 Taxes are universal. We pay income taxes on income including severance here in US as well.

Even the "unemployment compensation" paid by the government is taxable.

As I raised a question about the severance and next job, will the person give back the money to the company?

@Kaira94124647 will the person give back the severance if they find a job prior to finishing the time period for which severance was paid? i.e. if company pays 3 months equivalent severance, and find a job after 10 days, or a month, will they give back rest? No.... so it's an income & Taxed.

In US thats the only unique id for a person that is used for everything unlike PAN, Voter ID and Aadhaar being separate.

@RoshanKrRaii Dont know which US you are referring to but here pre paid won't get free incoming if there is no balance & balance/recharge is for a duration...1 or 3 months and so on. With monthly past paid,its included. Same in India.

Difference between algo based search engines & AI is multiple answers vs 1 it makes one believe Is the only right answer.

Integrate death certificate details from states' systems to mark person as deceased once death certificate is issued for an SSN. No need to track or self reporting requirements from next of kin.
