Last night @Delta had us sitting at DCA until 3 am after delaying our 8:50 pm flight multiple times. There were literally ZERO flights to Atlanta available today, so we got rebooked until tomorrow and now that flight is delayed already.
In 1791, a free Black astronomer laid down at Jones Point to fix the first corner of Washington by starlight. 36 of the 40 stones he and Ellicott planted are still in the ground. Here's where to find them.

More than ever. It is time for a Black political agenda. The protection, and needs of Black people need to be at the forefront of EVERY CBC member of congress.
Americans need to earn about $8500 per week full time minimum wage to have the same spending power as a car wash kid in 1971 earning $64 a week

Jackie Robinson was venerated for the abuse he silently withstood while breaking baseball’s color line. Frank Robinson, whose rookie year overlapped Jackie Robinson’s last season, was not a turn-the-other-cheek ballplayer. https://t.co/0JKSnExYzK
Raised in Oakland, Frank Robinson was never a go-along-to-get-along type. Neither were two guys he played ball with growing up—Bill Russell, the NBA's first Black head coach—and Curt Flood, the Black centerfielder who challenged baseball’s reserve clause. https://t.co/oZFWf6XTbg
A judge ruled that groups representing residents of Louisiana’s Cancer Alley can proceed with their landmark lawsuit seeking a pause on toxic industrial plants in two majority‑Black districts https://t.co/Rv9EdrKQLS
Nine years ago this week there in Minnesota, locals loudly balked at a proposal that protesters who were arrested at protests should pay for the police that arrested them.
This man yelled that the blood of recent murder victim Philando Castile (who was shot and killed by officer Jeronimo Yanez at a traffic stop after Castile calmly informed the officer that he was legally carrying a firearm) was on the hands of the politicians passing the bill.
Prophetically he yelled, “wait until your grandson gets murdered by the police!”
Nine years later, indeed, young white Minnesotans are being gunned down by masked men with Police written on their jackets.
The city of St Anthony paid the family of Castile $3 million. And it paid Yanez $135k to resign from the police dept.
