@KagutaMuseveni took oath one month ago to protect the Constitution of Uganda. During campaigns, he promised to deepen democracy and improve access to justice. @NRMOnline how can you betray ‘71%’ Ugandans just in one month? @StateHouseUg
A former Ugandan mayor and lawyer Erias Lukwago representing detained opposition figure Kizza Besigye, who is on trial for treason, has himself been charged with a treason-related offence.

Uganda's Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba says he's now been authorised by his father, President Yoweri Museveni, to shut down @DailyMonitor and @ntvuganda over claims that they have over time mocked the family's 40-year.
He's also threatened to have his political outfit, Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU), forcefully take over as Leader of Opposition in Parliament (LoP), where his father's political party, National Resistance Movement (NRM), commands the majority.
He has further threatened to arrest current LoP Joel Ssenyonyi and former MP Ssemujju Nganda for criticising his modus operandi when he boasted over the kidnap and torture of former Kampala mayor Erias Lukwago.
Ssemujju and Ssenyonyi said the current political crisis in the country mirrors the dictatorial era of Idi Amin Dada, when state abduction and killing of political opponents, silencing the media, breakdown of institutional governance and independence - especially parliament and judiciary, was the order of the day.
To son Muhoozi Kainerugaba, look at your peers the people you went to school with, the ones you joined in those military academies on our money.
Look at how they conduct themselves. Can you show me even one, just one, who behaves like you? One who threatens others with breaking limbs and destroying lives?
One who lifts himself by degrading others?
We paid for your studies in South Africa, in Egypt, and at Sandhurst. The training you received there was meant to build a commander who protects people, not one who turns against them and harms them.
Segona Akalya Amagwa.
I disagree with Muhoozi, but I’m not vulgar, that’s not how I do things. I will always communicate my disagreements in a principled manner. Stop your forgeries Kakwenza.
So, I’m told there is a ploy to potentially add me onto the “Terrorism” file of Butambala, or one of those other files in court.
I’ve said previously; when you fight corruption, it fights back.
Similarly, when you fight bad governance, it fights back!
But we shall overcome.

"We fought for a revolution. Change of the situation from what it was to what should be obtaining now. And that's what I live for. I live for ensuring that what I fought for lives after me.
Our revolution was a revolution of the intellectuals and the peasantry. I am now looking at another class that is coming in, grafting their ideological bankruptcy onto our noble ideas."
We are saddened by the untimely death of Mr. Joseph Sseruwooza, a talented Journalist at @bbstvug. He will be remembered for his humility, kindness, and friendly nature. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and the entire BBS Terefayina fraternity. MHSRIP🙏
Hon. Miria Matembe's has no any kind words for Museveni's son Muhoozi.
"Museveni's son has become like God, for what? Saying Lukwago has wet himself I don't know how many times..... he eats, speaks whatever he speaks... no one arrests him, no one imprisons him, the whole country is terrified. This is what you have done to us, President Museveni. Is that the legacy you want to leave behind?
I remember, in the year 2003, when I and a muntu were in Kyankwanzi, Mugisha Muntu. When we told President Museveni that issue of removing term limits should be dropped, Muntu told you, "Father, remember your legacy. Remember your legacy." You replied, "Leave my legacy alone, I am handling it myself now." I want to ask President Museveni, my dear brother, whom I embraced with all my heart, whom I loved with all my heart, whom I worked for with all my heart, and worked for this nation with all my heart and energy and everything... I want to ask you, what legacy are you leaving behind? What does it look like?
Is it handing us over to your son! Who lacks wisdom. What do they call 'wisdom' in Luganda? He has no wisdom. A person without wisdom cannot do such things. Now I ask... let me finish that point. I want President Museveni to come out and give accountability. You cannot just hand us over into the hands of your son; the country of Uganda is not his personal property.
And all these ministers you see, these Banyankole women... all of them! His wife, his sister-in-law is his wife, your daughter is his wife, the daughter of Salim Saleh, the daughter of Kutesa... five women are right there in Museveni's household. That is where our taxes go.
We are here, you see me here, what do I have? But I have Jesus, and He is enough. But I want to tell him to come out... come out and stop handing us over to your son who lacks wisdom. If he had wisdom, he would be doing the right things."
You can abduct and torture @NinyeTabz but you cannot break his resolve.
This does not show the strength of the regime, it only exposes how weak and decadent it is.
We stand with you my brother.
Just like the Amin regime, one day all this will be history.

National Unity Platform Secretary General David Lewis Rubongoya has condemned the circumstances surrounding the arrest of former Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago, describing it as part of a wider pattern of arrests intended to instil fear among the public. He further alleges that Lukwago told them he was forced to wear an NRM T-shirt with the words “Protecting the Gains,” which he described as humiliating.
