A completely apolitical post about the race today:

We are a motorsports family. If it has a motor, we've seen it run/race. And under that lens, the races in DC today were a 9 out of 10.

The setup was not slapdash in anyway. Entry, exit, "seating" were all about normal/above normal. My only complaint and where it lost a point, was the lack of viewing for little guys who can't see over the jersey barriers. It was grandstands or bust for my guy.

The racing was great. It was typical "road course" and by the end of the day, the Indy drivers had it dialed in; tomorrow is going to rule.

As far as "no one wanted this" or "no one is there lol" posts, they're simply not true. It was packed. Packed full of RACING fans. There weren't a lot of red hats to be seen. At least for today, there wasn't a HINT of politics. I know tomorrow all bets are off, but today was a cool day for racing and tomorrow the racing will be great.

This city shuts down for any number of bbq/music/pride/gogo/political festival on any given weekend. Whether it's a race or fireworks or bbq, we will be fine. You'll survive. We always do.

P.S. Indy car fans are MUCH better behaved than NASCAR fans.
