As scientists we should provide the example of how to deal with the climate crisis, and not be a part of the problem! Sign the petition :) https://t.co/EUTOjVwtLj
Now out in @NeuroCellPress: a tutorial in Bayesian decision models of behavior, with worked problems. Kudos to Neuron for being ok with this unconventional format. The tutorial is a preview of the textbook I am writing with @KordingLab and Dan Goldreich. https://t.co/SOMJv3lu7Y
@BranFlan20 @TeeshaMunoz The main barrier you face is you haven't established much of an online presence or brand, your don't have a following nor a reputation. Patron is a good option but that's just one cornerstone of what you will need to do if you want to seriously go at it.
@BranFlan20 @TeeshaMunoz Agreed, the point at which you start selling your art is when you are ready to take on the work. But don't read that as "when you are skilled enough". I'd argue that has less to do than you think, and that people are out there selling their art now less skilled than you.
Somebody asked after a talk on translating mice to human research and gender differences if they had run any studies on transgendered populations and what they would expect to find, and I thought it was pretty cool that was asked and answered seriously and enthusiastically.
@MattCrump_ I'm not sure if I've seen pushback from computer science departments, but I've seen pushback from within psych departments uncomfortable with undergrad courses teaching or using programming.
The FEYNMAN technique of learning:
STEP 1 - Pick and study a topic 📖
STEP 2 - Explain the topic to someone, like a child, who is unfamiliar with the topic 🗣️
STEP 3 - Identify any gaps in your understanding 🔍
STEP 4 - Review and Simplify! ♻️
