What ho! Doth thy spirit yearn for wonders past, for revelry and mirth beyond the ken of common folk? Then list! For in the hallowed halls of @ainternetshow , where silver screens do gleam and stories unfold, doth lie a treasure trove, a secret garden unseen by the uninitiated. Today, behold! Young Kytherian Lackwit, lord of the Thunderthighs (@KylerFinney ), whose wit perchance doth falter ere it flies, and gentle Morthagonas Gretch (@maryarchived ), the Pale & Terrible, with eyes that mirror summer skies, embark upon a quest to realms of old, to yon Ren Faire, where tales of valiant knights and damsels fair are spun. They shall, with hearty cheer, partake of potent draughts and victuals rich, their very souls refreshed. But mark, good sir or madam, mark with care! For Kytherian, in his zeal, a deed most singular doth undertake, a testament to his own appellation, Lackwit, forsooth! He, with blade held high, doth court disaster, threatening even a fragile butterfly with his unthinking might. Such follies, such delectable follies, would I recount anon, but alas, these jeweled moments, these gems of showmanship, are reserved for those who pledge their fealty, who join the sacred guild of subscribers. For them alone doth Kytherian's hapless quest and Morthagonas' grace unfold in all their unedited glory.
Stay thy hand!

Do not watch @ainternetshow with @KylerFinney and @maryarchived . The only people who watch are weirdos who are undeserving of love and will probably die cold and alone.

Underreported: A new report has revealed that the United States Army is diverting roughly 70% of the food allowance funds collected from some soldiers to other expenses.
Some shit you should know before you read: If you didn’t know, the Army provides enlisted service members with a Basic Allowance for Subsistence (BAS) to help cover the cost of their meals. However, for soldiers who live in barracks, this allowance—roughly $466 per month—is automatically deducted from their paychecks to fund meals at on-base facilities. Unlike other military benefits, BAS is not based on rank or income but is instead determined by the Department of Agriculture’s food cost index. The Army is responsible for using these funds to provide meals.
What’s going on now: According to a report released by https://t.co/3xnENqNgp7, the Army diverted nearly 70% of the food allowance funds collected from junior enlisted soldiers to other expenses instead of using them for meals. Financial records from 11 of the Army’s largest bases revealed that out of the $225 million deducted from soldiers’ paychecks for food in 2024, more than $151 million was not spent on dining facilities. Some bases showed particularly notable discrepancies—Fort Stewart, Georgia, for example, collected $17 million but only spent $2.1 million on meals, meaning 87% of the funds were used elsewhere. Similarly, at Fort Cavazos, Texas, just $11.7 million of the $42.5 million collected went toward food, leaving over 72% unspent on its intended purpose.
Out of the 11 bases analyzed, only two —Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, & Fort Bliss, Texas—allocated more than half of the collected funds to meals. In a statement, Army officials claimed that food purchases are based on projected meal attendance, but the report found no clear explanation for where the excess funds were redirected.
In a statement, Congressman Jill Tokuda said, “The fact that at least $151 million was collected from soldiers and not spent on food as required demands not just an immediate investigation, but swift accountability.”
According to https://t.co/3xnENqNgp7, Army officials declined to answer “detailed, or even broad questions” about the money being diverted
