When you have a baby: “THEIR CRIB MUST BE EMPTY. THEIR CRIB IS A BARREN DESERT.”
When you have a toddler: “their crib must have 27 hot wheels, 13 stuffed animals, 5 books, 2 blankies, a spatula, and a partridge in a pear tree”
Crying babies in public are not a nuance lmao y’all just hate children for some weird reason. It’s the PUBLIC if you can’t handle a baby eating or crying in your space then you need to do what you need to do to avoid that. Let other people live their lives
Parents of past generations had almost zero emotional education. No guidance for how they needed to help their children self regulate, to help them through their pain, and how to meet their emotional needs.
Of course the end result is generational trauma.
Parents do they best they can with what they know....
“I got spanked, and I turned out fine” needs to be looked at deeper.
- Can you handle your emotions without having outbursts or meltdowns?
- What do your relationships look like?
- How do people close to you feel in your presence?
- Do your respect your body?
- Do you need substances to cope?
Fine can mean you exist in survival mode. Humans are meant to thrive. Abuse does not set up the foundation for us to thrive. It’s sets the foundation for shame, high defensiveness, and dysfunctional relationships.
Republicans will force a 10 year old to carry her rapist’s baby to term, let a 6 year old carry a gun, permit a 12 year old to work an 8 hour shift in a meat packing plant and allow a grown man to marry a 14 year old with a Judge’s consent, all while telling us that the reason they’re banning drag queens, gender affirming care and books about Rosa Parks is because they want to ‘protect our kids.’
Bullshit.
I feel like a large portion of EM burn out could be mitigated if people that get genuinely mad at patients who are homeless, “drug seekers” (hate that term), are not there for a true life threatening emergency and expect lay ppl to be able to self triage just…didn’t go into EM.
Idk how to tell you this but 1. You literally don’t have to buy any of these clothes and 2. Putting flowers or a pink dinosaur on your child’s clothes won’t make them gay or trans.
Also “difficulty breathing” isn’t a symptom of an opioid overdose. It causes respiratory depression which goes hand in hand with becoming unconscious. You’ll lose consciousness long before you stop breathing. Also touching fentanyl won’t cause an overdose.
i don’t really wanna see any of the “you never know what people are going through” discourse today because, in all honesty, y’all aren’t any kinder when you do.
