🇺🇦🇪🇺Ukraine Receives EU Candidate Status. We will stay the European course as we continue to transform and develop Ukraine’s financial system. As the central bank of a candidate for EU membership, we will have much broader opportunities to meet our European integration objectives

Given the damage caused by the war, #Ukraine needs the international community to provide increasingly more funding and make extraordinary decisions. I asked the @EBRD to expand its swap line to give our country maximum support.
The official Ukrainian delegation met with @EBRD President @OdileRenaud in Marrakech as part of the EBRD 2022 Annual Meeting and Business Forum. I was glad to participate in this important dialogue.
The EBRD’s Sustainability Package and commitment to aid in Ukraine’s post-war reconstruction are vital for us and clearly demonstrate the essence of our partnership.
I have met with Christoph Denk, EBRD Managing Director for Economics, Policy, and Governance, and Alex Pivovarsky, EBRD Managing Director for Capital Markets Development. We discussed, among other things, the @EBRD’s aid to #Ukraine, and the NBU’s operation in wartime.

NBU has made multiple appeals to the international banking community asking it to tighten russia’s financial isolation. We expect these appeals to gain maximum support. Finding external sources to finance post-war economic recovery of 🇺🇦 is another area of our work.
I’ve taken part in an @EBRD constituency meeting today. I briefly outlined the situation on the financial front of 🇺🇦 and steps needed to stop the aggressor. Ramping up sanctions pressure on russia is an effective response to this global threat.
I have spoken at an ad-hoc meeting of @ecb General Council today. The meeting focused on the impact of russia’s war in #Ukraine on the economies of EU countries, and prospects for further technical cooperation between the @NBUkraine_eng and the European System of Central Banks.
In my interview with Bloomberg today, I’ve talked about NBU key policy rate, what to expect in terms of inflation, how serious the fallout from an escalation of Russian military aggression may be, and prospects for cooperation with international partners.

Thanks to the participants of meeting -the #G7 ambassadors @G7AmbReformUA - for a fruitful and constructive conversation. I want to assure you that we remain committed to our agreements with international partners, cooperation with which is one of the priorities of the @NBUkraine
All-Ukrainian Forum “Ukraine. 30”: it’s time to introduce more transparent mechanisms for the market of primary housing development. It will prevent replay of Ukrbud and Arkada scenario and stimulate banks’ risk appetite in the priority segment of lending for new construction
The NBU welcomes the European Paliament’s resolution on the Implementation of the EU Association Agreement with Ukraine. The resolution says that Ukraine has made significant progress in meeting its commitments under the Agreement, including in the banking sector.
The recovery will largely depend on the banking sector’s operation and intensity of banks’ lending, especially mortgage-based lending. Our nearest objective is to increase the ratio of mortgages to GDP from 0.7% currently to 2% by 2024.
Today I had an opportunity to open the VII Legal Banking Forum, welcome the participants, and wish them a successful year. I believe that 2021 can be seen as a year of economic recovery.
On 9 February, the world celebrates Safer Internet Day! The NBU and the banking system’s participants have been doing their best to ensure that Ukrainians have constant access to secure and fast payments via the internet.
