While these calls were in progress a third rescue call came in. The station was uncovered momentarily until the first recue unit was able to clear the hospital.This is just one of many reasons to VOTE YES in November to increase Firefighters/Paramedic on duty!

BDFD just received two calls for service. One rescue call and a kitchen fire. There are only 5 Firefighter/Paramedics working today. There was not enough Firefighter/Paramedics to handle these calls and required calling in all available off duty.

After previously voting unanimously on a motion to move forward on a referendum to fund additional Fire/Medics, the Beaver Dam Police and Fire Commission rescinds their motion! Please contact the PFC and City Council ask for safer Beaver Dam. @IAFFNewsDesk @PFFW @BDCitizen

Your Beaver Dam Firefighters/Paramedics have responded to 3 calls within minutes of each other that required 7 Paramedics. Only 5 are working today so it required calling in 4 more off duty firefighters/paramedics. One ambulance was able to clear and now take a fourth call.

Your Beaver Dam Fire Department has been extremely busy this morning. 4 ambulances have been running calls since 1030. There has not been an available ambulace at the station since then. Units are clearing as fast as they can to take the next one. @PFFW @IAFFNewsDesk

The Beaver Dam Police and Fire Commision revisited the Fire Department staffing and station needs needs tonight. Dodge County will be performing study as well. The PFC made a motion to proceed and voted unanimously to move ahead with the study!!

All 4 Ambulance are on the streets. 5 calls within the hour and required pageing 2 off duty back to staff the station.

UPDATE this study was cancelled due unforeseen cost that exceeded the approved amount. The county is performing a study on ems needs in the county and will not specifically look at all the staffing shortages in Beaver Dam Area Community.

Tonight the City of Beaver Common Council took a huge step in increasing staffing and adding an additional station . Tonight they voted unanimously to approve funds to study staffing.

Another busy day at FD 3 calls for service in 21 minutes. This required paging in 4 off duty FF's back to the station and shuffling crews on scene to send FF's back to cover station. One ambulance was out of service for routine maintenance.
