Mute Swan, 2021
New book forthcoming from Ronsdale Press, 2027
It’s early days, but I can’t hold it in any longer!
I'm over the moon to announce I signed my next book with @ronsdalepress@wendyatkinson! Forthcoming, spring 2027, I’ll be sharing details as they come.
Because you read and come to readings and say good things. Thank you.
It's only taken 3 years to consider adding Mute Swan and her author to Goodreads. Please consider rating your experience of my poetry collection, and/or writing a short review. Thanks for your ongoing support!

@nakedpastor co-ed sleepovers, liaisons on the bus at teen camp, massage, and watching the LEFT BEHIND series when I thought I could be sure about something.
@paracletepress My heart beats faster when I see what is possible as a lifelong poet. Age is meaningless. Luci Shaw, every congratulations for bringing another beautiful and resonant collection into our world. Can't wait to read it!

Religion, in my opinion, tends towards exclusion.
If it really does believe it is the right religion, it must.
Which is why, as huge parts of the population becomes more fundamentalist, it becomes more hateful and discriminatory.
To the point where they genuinely believe they must only love themselves and deny the others access.
A partial poem from the archives, 2010.

And I thought (tried not to, but I did) of
You, tucked in there
and what remains of you tucked in here,
in us.…
the lingering smell of your cigar
as you sit in the darkened backyard with Bob
shooting the breeze.
Pleased to have one of my poems collected in the Ourselves in Rivers and Oceans anthology from The Wee Sparrow Poetry Press. My copy has arrived, so looking forward to reading all the other poems!
