Whenever the men’s soccer team doesn’t advance in a big tournament I see some version of “our best athletes don’t play soccer” and our country needs that. In theory do you actually want less good players in the NFL or NBA to play for the national soccer team? Going to discuss this tomorrow on the radio. Love to hear your answers.

@CapitalOne thank you for the surprise benefit of having to pay for my wife to sit in the capital one lounge here in Las Vegas even though she is on the account and spends money using your card as well. #squeezetheconsumer#annoyed#wontusethiscardanymore
Part 2- rating youth sports trends for 7-10 year olds
🚗 Travel Ball: 1/10
🎯 Private Lessons: 1/10
💪 Performance Training: 8/10 if game-based/fun (like @JeremyFrisch); 1/10 if formal reps & sets.
🔄 Early Specialization: -2/10 if adult-driven.
Why are many coaches poor educators?
▪️ Because they think sport is the subject.
✔️ The child before you is the subject, their growth your objective and sport the vehicle for transformation.

Watched 5 “warm-ups” this weekend with U7 & U8 kids… all of them in a long line just shooting at the GK. 😩
At that age, games of tag, small sided games, rondos and 1v1s are 10x more dynamic, fun AND effective.
Get them ready properly.
You want to know what "elite" 😉 training looks like for 11-12 year olds...
Hint hint: It doesn't look like a college strength and program.
A program that is more structured, highly technical and higher in intensity you might be missing out of the whole point of development.
##LTAD
Imagine a program for kids where they have some serious fun and build athletic movement skills at the same time without even realizing it.
It's called Speed Demons and this is what it looks like...
#LTAD
Found some old notes on athletic development. Thought it might be helpful for some coaches. #LTAD
Coordination...strength...mobility
Birth to age 6:
Coordination: developed through movement and play
Strength: developed through movement and play
Mobility: In abundance since birth, move and maintain.
7 to age 12:
Coordination: most important time to train this element. Developed through free play, physical education, movement discovery, vigorous movement, multiple sports participation
Strength : not a primary concern at this time period. Typically developed in conjunction with coordination development through movements activities like climbing, crawling, full speed running and jumping.
Mobility: not a primary concern at this time period and can be maintained via various movement.
Ages 13 to 15
Coordination: continue to train or maintain general coordination exercises as this time period features rapid growth that can interfere with coordination. Also consideration should now be given to the development of sports specific coordination training.
Strength: During this growth period (earlier for girls) consideration should be given to begin a more structured strength training program...particular emphasis should be placed technical mastery and taking each exercise through a full and complete range of motion.
Mobility: As body size and weight increase mobility tends to decrease during this time period therefore consideration should be given to mobility exercises on a consistent basis.
Ages 15-18
Coordination: General coordination training should be maintained while sports specific training takes on center stage.
Strength: Considering technique is sufficient, time can now be spent on an organized strength training program with the goal of using progressively heavier resistance on each exercise.
Mobility: Can be maintained or improved (if needed) through consistent practice.
Connor Hellebuyck:
Never played Tier 1.
Never played in The Brick.
Never played Quebec PW.
Never made a Development Camp.
Did play HS hockey.
Did play NAHL.
Did play NCAA D1.
Did win a Vezina.
Did win Olympic gold.
And yet we’ve got parents stressing over which 8U team

@SouthwestAir believe it or not no matter how many times u send a different agent to ask for the email receipt of the upgrade I can not produce it as I never received it. Your ineptness continues!!! Your support system works like ur internet not!!! #ineptness#PoorService@Delta
Hey @SouthwestAir when ur website advertises an upgrade of seats to include luggage fees it would be great if it honors those luggage fees. Oh and when u list on the flight reliable internet, I should not experience the internet not functioning at all for my two full flights 1/2
From Nashville to Los Angeles Looking forward to the additional 3 to 4 hours (after arriving at midnight ) of work tonight because your systems were completely unreliable. Gonna be my best work probably to equivalent quality of your website and internet. #swa#swasucks@Delta
